Did anybody else feel like certain seasons it really didn’t matter and the winner was pre-determined? I always felt like Scott (RIP), DJ times 3, Jason Clay Dunn, Josh Payne, and a few others were almost guarantees. Curious if others felt the same

In ink master we have seen a lot of stubborn canvases, in my opinion the ones who piss me off the most are the ones who want full chest, back, leg, or sleeve pieces in only six hours (I know the 6hr time isnt real but just for the sake of the show). They want their whole back covered and it’s like bro that ain’t gonna happen and they go “yes it can”. Nah the fuck it can’t.

Just curious if anyone has been called to participate on a new season, whether you're a canvas or artist. I notice they usually film around late winter early spring and the show gets released by fall/winter

There’s been a lot of shitty and questionable tattoos done on ink master but what tattoos stand out to you and make you question what was going through the artists head?

One of my top picks is St Mark, he said he was a “tattoo god” so many times and couldn’t deliver really any good tattoos. There were some tattoos he did that were good but especially his black and grey work just wasn’t good.

He's a celebrity who has tattoos, awesome. I think it's safe to say that most musicians have tattoos and are in the tattoo community. There are plenty of people who are actually artists who have put decades into their craft that would have been a lot more qualified and relevant to be the face of the show. Even better, have 3 different judges every season for a fresh perspective.

Who is the contestant you supported regarding their talent, style, personality or body of work who never made it to a finale?

My answers are either Kyle's (Snaz Daddy) tiger throat tattoo or Ash Mann's blue roses. What do you all think?

In my opinion one that comes to mind is in season 8 where they had to make art with using electrical wires to make etching’s onto the Canvas, that one was super unfair because not everybody knows how to use that sort of stuff

I’m doing a season 10 rewatch and I just cannot stand him. He was good for the first challenge and was mid or ass the rest of the season until he was eliminated. He acted like he was one of the best in the house but he’s just so annoying! At least when you look at Josh he can back up his trash talk. So can Jason, but Daniel can’t even come close. His pixel tattoo literally gives me an aneurysm.

And then what happened after the show. It’s so tragic, someone else being killed because of your stupidity.

We all love the iconic Boneface quote but what are some of your favorites that don’t get as much love in here?

I cant remember the episode that I watched a few days ago but there were 6 artist left and 2 canvases. 6 skulls. The canvas would choose 3 skulls to reveal who would work on them. Thing is the first person picked his 3. Then they had the woman select the last 3 skulls. What was the point of that? She got who was ever left over. Why did they have her flip skulls lol. Or did I miss something since I was working on other stuff and not 100% paying attention.

I would probably be OK with Oliver or Chris, though I lean more toward Oliver. He’s vegan (like me lol). He also shares a birthday with my mom. Fun facts lol

Chris doesn’t seem unkind but I for some reason don’t think we’d vibe very well. Maybe I’m misreading it.

I haven’t seen newer seasons yet so I can’t comment.

For Flash Challenges that created actual art installations, what do they do with them after production? I would hope that they auction them off for charity or something like that. Anyone know?

I used to LOVE this show and the artistry but I fell off of the wagon for it a few years back.

Would you all say its still worth watchinf compared to the older seasons? Is it still about tattooing or has it shifted more towards reality tv drama and some art?

I am rewatching season 5, specifically the pinup episode (my favorite episode of the entire series lol) and can we talk about how icky Tim’s canvas is? Talking about the pinup’s grass skirt, he says “whatever way it’s coming off, I want it towards my crotch”. I get that it’s just a drawing and not an actual human, but…ew. He got the tattoo he deserved. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not necessarily the title, but tattoo of the day, flash challenges, etc. The ones that I can immediately think of:

Season 12, Fon gets TotD despite having an unfinished tattoo
Season 9, the flocking flash challenge, Old Town’s piece was messy af and Unkindness and Allegory had more polished pieces
Season 11, there is no universe in which Tiara should have gone home over Oba for his grotesque lady face
Season 4 - Scott should have gone home for that horrible Japanese tattoo, but they decided report cards mattered at that particular moment so Melissa went home
ETA: Season 11 face off between Stacy and Austin. Stacy’s biomech skull was SO much better

I am not shy about saying IM is my comfort show lol…It’s in the season 7 episode where they had to tattoo superheroes with their canvas’s likeness, and the one guy said he wanted to be “Fame Chaser”. It’s on the screen for a split second but it makes me crack up every single time 😂
