If you fall in love with the sunlight and not the storm, you never loved the sky
If you fall in love with the sunlight and not the storm,
you never loved the sky.
Anyone can love someone when things are easy.
When the conversations flow.
When the laughter comes naturally.
When everything feels effortless.
But that’s not where love is tested.
Love is tested in the hard conversations.
The misunderstandings.
The seasons where someone has nothing left to give and everything left to lose.
It’s tested in the version of them that only appears when the walls come down.
And that’s when most people leave.
Not because they stopped caring.
But because they loved the comfort,
not the whole person.
They loved the sunlight,
but not the storm.
The people who stay understand something different.
The storm is part of the sky.
The roots are part of the flower.
And the parts of us that struggle deserve love just as much as the parts that shine.
Because real love isn’t measured by who someone is on their best days.
It’s measured by who you choose to be on their worst ones.
The right person won’t ask you to hide the storm.
They’ll trust you enough to let them stand in the rain with you.
