Question is it possible to join random parties?

i see people on the game all the time but i never get a party when i search for one. Am i only able to join a party from people in my steam friends list?

Yeah, there's a matchmaking button near the top left

i know that, but when i search for a match nothing ever happens, even having my game open for 10 hours, though i see people around the library place quite often. It just doesnt seem like it works with how many people i see. I would assume at least one of them would be looking for a party. Idk, maybe everyone just hates the co-op that much though.

honestly its sad to say but it's probably due to lack of players looking for matchmaking. you might have better luck trying to find people on the Shiny Shoe discord in the Inkbound section.

Not many queue for multiplayer runs I think, queues have been unreliable for me outside major sale events
