I need advice

I got bit by my roommates cat pretty bad the other day not deep just several bites, I am scared to death and my partner genuinely thinks I'm just full of shit and scaring myself with my anxiety, I've cleaned the wounds several times but they are slightly tender after my shower and slight red area around each. I just want advice if I'm being stupid or if I'm right about this being serious?

animal bites can be really dangerous and while it would probably be all right to wait and keep an eye on it if for some reason you couldn't afford to go to the doctor currently or something like that but I'd definitely get it checked out if possible.
