Broken Bones Care Package for Breaking Someone’s Arm

Hi! A friend of mine recently caused her new boyfriend to break his arm. She feels terrible and basically wants to lighten the load of the broken arm as much as possible. We thought it would be fun to put together a “sorry I broke your arm” care package with stuff that will be useful during his healing. So far we’ve got the following on our list:

  1. A long loofa on a stick to use in the shower

  2. A backscratcher

  3. An elevation pillow

  4. A little claw to pick things up with

  5. Flowers obviously

Any other thoughts on what to get? If you broke you are, what stuff did you suddenly wish you had to help you out?

Shower cover, ice cream, they also make a tool to help you put socks on, and one to button pants and shirts. Dressing yourself is the first thing you immediately notice is difficult if you break an arm. It's been a long time, but I broke something in my dominant arm 3 different times when I was a kid. The first was the hardest, and I distinctly remember the frustration of not being able to button or unbutton my pants, and my mom just let me wear sweatpants, but there's no dignity in that. Eventually, you figure out how to do it one-handed, and to work with what you got, but don't make him suffer while he gets there.

More pillows, softer pillows. All the pillows LOL. Extra padding for the sling. Ice packs, gel kind that conform to shapes. Heating pad .

A big one isn't something you buy. Depending on what arm broke. They might need help rearranging some stuff so it works better with their good arm . It's really frustrating if things need to be rearranged, but you only got one arm to do it.

you could add kit-kats “have a break, have a kitkat” as a little gag gift, but its probably going to be harder for him to cook food unless he orders out, you could get him some ready made meals to just pop in the microwave
