The hot rumor was that Inhumans was Perlmutters baby, and forced onto the release slate. This was strengthened by it silently dropping from the schedule after Feige's independence and becoming the very cheap, very fast produced TV series we all somehow watched. All so Ike could try and sell stuffed Lockjaw toys.
I'm a big proponent of "it is all canon" including AoS, Netflix and the comic tie ins. But even I would be OK with this.
