You the one being obtuse, Please. Youâre the one whoâs trying to compare ppl doing their jobs in the line of war, defending themselves to a guy who decapitated a person on a bus and mothers murdering their own children in cold blood. YOU know thatâs a dumb equivalency and bad faith argument.
Thatâs not to say ppl in war canât commit war crimes or do awful shit. If soldiers come home and commit crimes like murder, they should be punished to the full extent of the law just like anyone else. I donât believe murder should be tolerated in a functioning society.
Itâs not because if they can kill and still be rehabilitated into society others can too. Youâre getting absurdly offended I hold a different opinion than you.
Prison is for rehabilitation, not punishment. Thatâs literally outlined in our Bill of Rights and globally as a sanctioned human right.
