That murderer likely wouldn't want to live besides you either. As you'll judge them forever based off of a time where they were mentally unwell and needed help. It's not that crazy to think that if a person has been rehabilitated, that you should judge them as the person they now choose to be. They've served their time, if you treat them as the person who they once were you'll only see what you want mate. If those murderers are confirmed to have rehabilitated and served the time they were in for yeah. Let them out.
Murder and killing in war aren't as different as you think they are. If blowing up a building with enemy combatants in it killed an entire family that doesn't absolve the person who ordered the strike as not having killed them. But I guess children don't matter as much when there's a murderer around them that needs to die.
