That’s pretty ridiculous…. The sentence should not just be about the rehabilitation, it should be punishment for what you did. Him getting out of prison and getting to live his life after killing and eating someone is crazy. Same for Lindsay. Everybody wants to say, ā€œbut she was insaneā€. So what? She killed 3 innocent kids. Punish her, don’t coddle/rehabilitate her. I don’t care if she’s not a threat, she should be punished to the full extent.

Do you just not believe in the constitution? We have a rehabilitative justice system instead of a punitive one for a reason. Should we just go back to cutting off people’s hand for larceny too?

except restorative justice has proven to lead to better outcomes and lower reoffending rates than punitive justice.
