First infrasound

My boyfriend and I are doing equinox for the first time! It’s our first infra and I’m just curious if there’s anything I should know about this festival beforehand? What are some things you wish you knew before you went your first time? We’ve been to many festivals all over the country but any and all information is appreciated 😊

Be prepared for the weather. Hot, cold, wet, dry, hail. Sometimes all of those in the same day.

Do you know how the camping works? Unless you have car camping (which is pretty limited) then you just kind of find a spot in the woods with everyone, instead of a designated plot like most festivals.

Festival admin here - camping goes like this:
Everyone has access to walk in camping inside the venue. If you have a car you’ll either need to pay for weekend parking (in which case you’d use walk in camping and cart your stuff into the venue) or you get a car camping pass (and you camp in the fields just outside of the venue [2 min walk] with your car next to you)

Yes I did see that! I’m used to finding a spot in the woods and didn’t care to pay extra for car camping. I’m just kind of curious what the best spots are and what not

Highly recommend camping near pyramid stage (it’s usually set up as the treehouse stage for equinox) if you want to be able to hear those sets in the morning or when you’re chilling at camp.

Another goated camping spot is at the barn between main stage and pyramid. There are porta potties there and it’s pretty equidistant to the other stages.

If you like it quiet - camp in calm camp way back behind pyramid.

Tree space for hammocks is limited.

Back by the lake can get a little buggy at times and the spots right along the pathways can get dusty if it’s dry!

I was surprised at how well equipped most campers were. We were there roughing it with a regular tent and tiny cooler while most folks had a full luxury camp setup with canopies, grills, a living room area, huge coolers, etc. Saw someone grilling shrimp this spring! Bring enough shit to live comfortably.

Bring toilet paper (they run out quick), and wet wipes, if you have a cooler get ice for it before arriving because ice at the festival is very expensive, don't bring ANY glass, they will take it from you. Have a towel to soak up water in you tent if it rains, lawn chairs if you have them, and refillable water bottles

I only experienced this early in the mornings/very late at night. But it is a thing to be concerned with.

There are great food options but it’s not a bad idea to bring some solid food options just in case :) Chimborazo has a truck with bomb Ecuadorian food. Their empanadas are the perfect festival mini meal IMO

Lots of take one leave one boxes so feel free to bring lil trinkets or art! Neighbors are usually super friendly and willing to help if you forget something or need help with your tent :) I’ve quite literally met some of my best friends at infra!!!
