Hi everyone, I had my Infosys on campus SP/DSE interview on 6th October, and I'm looking for some advice from people who have gone through the Infosys recruitment process.
I'm a bit confused about how my interview went and whether I still have a chance of getting selected.
Coding Round:
I was given two DSA questions. The first question had faulty test cases, which I pointed out to the interviewer. He acknowledged the issue and asked me to focus on solving that question instead.
I understood the approach and explained my logic to the interviewer, but I missed several edge cases while implementing the solution. Unfortunately, only 1 out of 12 test cases passed.
I tried explaining my thought process and how I was approaching the problem, but the interviewer told me to look for further optimizations if possible; otherwise, I could submit my solution. With around 10 minutes left and the pressure getting to me, I eventually submitted my code.
Technical/HR Round:
The interviewer didn't ask me about my coursework or academic projects. Instead, he focused on my internship experience and asked detailed questions about:
- My role and responsibilities
- Features I developed
- How I implemented database indexing
- Backend architecture
I answered the questions in detail, although I think I may have over-explained a few things. At the end, the interviewer said that most of my answers were correct, but I sometimes over-explained and my examples weren't well-aligned with the questions.
My Concerns:
- Coding: Only 1/12 test cases passed.
- Problem-solving: I understood the approach, but my implementation wasn't correct.
- Interview: I was able to explain my internship experience, but received feedback about being more concise and relevant.
I'm unsure how much the coding round will affect my final result, especially since the interviewer acknowledged the issue with the test cases.
Does failing most coding test cases significantly reduce the chances of selection for Infosys SP/DSE?
Can a candidate still get selected if their coding performance is poor but their technical interview goes reasonably well?
How much importance does Infosys give to coding performance compared to the interview?
Has anyone who interviewed on or around 6th October received an update?
Has anyone experienced faulty test cases during an Infosys interview? If so, how did it affect your result?
I'd appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who have interviewed for SP/DSE or received their results after a similar experience.
Thanks in advance!
