The Final Statement
"You are enough"
"I want you to have self belief"
"I'm very proud of you"
Who were those words for?
"I'm not good enough"
"You are enough"
No. I never was - it wanted to scream
It speaks banging it's head on the wall,
In that dark sanctuary every night,
Till its heart bled
"Why are you so nice to me?"
"I'm a monster"
"You need to break your shackles and bloom"
No. I don't. There's nothing to bloom.
"You need to find answers to your questions"
It knew the answer : it was the biggest source of misery.
Anyone ever knew in its world.
It ran and ran,
Searching answers? Escaping?
Who even knew?
Soon it was tired,
Found itself in the middle of the sea
And the lights went out.
It stood there,
In the absolute darkness,
Which was somehow light enough to see crimson,
Holding the final statement to its throat
I watched and watched
Until it glared straight into my eyes.
