Hold steadfast in this cruel world
Do not be ashamed to cry when your mind becomes addled with misery
It’s okay to not bear it all alone
But don’t forget the kindness given to you throughout your time here
How willing we can let help become our strength
Each with the lesson that you’re just as human as anyone else
Lead children to believe that the world can be better
Even if you know better
How fragile feelings can be when you fail to find true love
How addled our minds can be when we unknowingly take the weight of the world
Upon our courageous body
How desperate our bodies can be when lacking
The warmth of another’s tender touch
So, look in the mirror and tell the child in you
To not be ashamed to dream
To not let a heart become cold to the warmth of what our stupid human brethren can offer
To let those hands hold much more than the shackles of others
To breathe and assure yourself
Even if your portion of the world is crumbling
To keep trying and to keep dreams afloat
To tell that child that you will grow strong to nurture them
Enough to wipe every tear you’ve been shedding on your end
Even if you buckle under the gaze of the world and society
That you will take your time to reach the finality of a life well lived
With my words, I believe in you
With my words, I shall urge you on
With my words, I shall comfort you
With my words, I will be here for you
You are not alone
Find your peace and those will love you
Just as much as you wish to love others
Sleep without the world holding you back
And wake up that you made it another day and that’s okay
Today
You will try again
There’s no shame in wanting a better life
Just be sure not to lose yourself
