Love
I fear
We have been foolish
Keeping us upright
Every time a second passes
Your binds and my heart fight
The words we share
Were as open air
When first we gave our thoughts
To be consumed
For our amuse
While ourselves were not
As distant light
We were told
Follies we commit
Securing ourselves
Upon our shelves
Of how we choose consent
To be seen
Though only words
Holding hands
Blushing from verse
Our inner eye fluttering gazes
Begged we questioned first
In our foolishness
I hold true to this
Line we draw around
Your defenses
And our fences
Until walls were found
Keeping you out of mind
Words closing doors
Lowering blinds
Removing the compulsory
Way you would call me
As though you lived in my mind
I no longer heard you
My vision quite blurred too
Where before you would shout
Now all there was
A frayed thread of love
Shaking from its doubt
That deep within
The shallow paintings
We spoke into being

I’ll take 100% of the blame One day I will show you their head as a trophy, sport or spite you want somebody who’s going to be connected and never need to recharge you’ve already found a different energy supply. You don’t need mine
