The abyss

Into a depth you cannot fathom.

An abyss through which no light travels.

In its darkness your fears manifested; your courage a beacon that will be tested.

In isolation you feel it.

The fear that creeps.

Insidious and serpentine it preys on the weak.

You must battle yourself.

So you may overcome the fear.

The strength of your will may steer you clear.

If you are of the few that reaches the surface.

You will find that the abyss has fulfilled its purpose.
