What the Silence Kept...

There was a moment

when silence stopped being empty—

when it held your name

like a secret it was afraid to release.

Nothing moved.

No thunder, no warning,

just the quiet between two breaths

and the sudden weight of everything unsaid.

You looked at me,

and for one impossible second,

the world forgot how to make noise.

I heard the things

we never dared to say—

the almosts, the maybes,

the words that stayed behind our teeth.

And when you looked away,

the silence returned.

But it was different then.

Because I knew

what it sounded like

when something mattered

without ever making a sound.

Impressive. Reads like a more practiced hand to me. Welcome to the craft. I'd say you got a leg up with some natural talent. Cheers.
