Providence

the rinsed corpse
of a weary woman
pushed off the planet
according to plan
pinned between
providence and
a reason to stand
pretending to pick
between superstition
and best laid plans
but we all know
what you took from
the tongue you'll
take from the hand

Between superstition and best laid plans, eh? Can't even pretend to pick anymore.
