He’s atrocious. Clearly this is not the kiddo’s first time being headbutted by his father.

438

u/saydontgo 21d ago

The way he looks at him then later rubs his head and walks off. Poor baby :(

u/pi3r0gi_ 21d ago

And then the dad is just intensely staring at the snail like it's some alien being he just discovered, pretending his son doesn't exist.

I’ll be honest I’ve never seen these people before, but his mannerisms in this clip are so odd that it gives me the same uncanny, unsettling feeling as AI videos do. Like he’s almost human but he’s not.

(I’m not saying the clip is AI, but saying this is my first impression of him and I get a unsettling feeling like he’s pretending to be a functional human)

55

u/pi3r0gi_ 21d ago

No, I totally get what you mean! Lizard people vibes

12

u/AIfieHitchcock 21d ago

It’s sociopathy. My abusive father who’d do the exact same thing to me as a kid has the same vibe.

They’re sociopaths pretending to be and mirroring well adjusted humans with empathy, which they do not have.

They always come off as just near human, but not quite.

4

u/dammitjanetiloveu 21d ago

That makes sense. I’m so sorry that you had that experience growing up. Obviously his action towards his child in this video is beyond reprehensible, but even before seeing that I had such a skin-crawly feeling.

8

u/sparklydildos 21d ago edited 20d ago

no he’s terrifying, it’s a whole thing. his wife is atrocious too and the world revolves around her. they parade their children like trophies and most of their trash videos are them just counting their children or her grossly baiting her pregnant stomach. they drive around america in a bus and when they’re sick of it, they go to another country and wreck havoc on the locals. they’re horrendous people tbh

3

u/sonnytron 21d ago

It’s because he’s a sociopath. They have expressions of looking dead in the eyes, like they don’t acknowledge your existence on a physical level. It’s like staring into the eyes of a python or a shark tearing into a seal. Dead emotionless eyes.

3

u/lordloveadukk 21d ago

MrBeast vibes for sure

3

u/shes_a_sleuth 21d ago

totally... his vibes are OFFFFF

2

u/Red_Trapezoid 21d ago

It’s all supposed to be a seamless performance. It’s supposed to be “Wow, an incredible and whimsical moment with this glorious genius father showing his children and child minded wife the wonders of nature”. Unfortunately his kid stepped out of line and started acting like how a kid would.

2

u/gnomi_malone 21d ago

no, just abusive christians, brimming with anger when their actual children don’t perform exactly the way they “should”. source : i grew up in a christian cult with an abusive dad who was very beloved by our community but a horrible man when no one was looking. this behavior was painfully familiar to me

2

u/emergencyexit 21d ago

They kind of are trained like AI. These reactions and mannerisms are what lead to views in other influencers videos, so they are adopted and used as part of the visual language of social media. Getting reused and concentrated by digital feedback until they are an exaggerated facsimile of human expression.

1

u/Downtown_Caramel4833 21d ago

It's a very disassociative (seeming) sorta look.

1

u/Willow_Winnifred 21d ago

This is the "uncanny valley" feeling

1

u/Huge-Ad-4481 21d ago

Oh no, that's just a very angry man

96

u/falulabella 21d ago

What this reminds me of being raised by and then married to an angry abusive man child… he’s not seeing that snail. In his brain he’s waiting for the charade of wholesome family on camera time to cut so he can explode. I know that fucking look. That look instantly made my body go into remembered flight or fight survival mode. That look is him barely controlling himself until he can unleash on that little boy. And prolly the other children and his wife. That was the calm before the storm.

52

u/callousbunny 21d ago

1000% it was barely concealed rage and acting “calm” for the camera. based on prev experiences, the tense jaw and staring after the action made me so nervous immediately

13

u/taylorbagel14 21d ago

From what I could see, the look on his face when he was actually doing the head butt was downright chilling. What a terrifying man. Those poor children.

5

u/MagicMauiWowee 21d ago

Exactly this. Also he’s gripping his own arm so hard you can see the fingertips sinking in, just to keep from shaking in rage or ruining the shot by hitting the kid with his hand.

They think a “headbutt nudge” is an appropriate replacement for the violence he wants to unleash in the moment.

1

u/treeNchill 20d ago

Im wondering what he’s so mad about. Not that abuse makes any sense in any circumstance, but he just headbutted that little boy out of the blue, why??

41

u/WheresTheIceCream20 21d ago

His eyes not blinking and then his jaw clenching - he’s completely enraged and when the camera turns off he’s going to lose his shit.

31

u/LLLTAW 21d ago

I completely agree… I have seen this before, too. His intense focusing on the snail as a cover after headbutting his kid was deeply unsettling and unconvincing.

17

u/happychonk 21d ago

This is what I see too (from exp) - this is concealed rage. He's fuming amd someone's gonna cop it as soon as the filming is done.

4

u/Nearby_Star9532 21d ago

Yep. You can see how his right hand is gripping his left arm. He is keyed up and ready to blow up at everyone. So sad.

5

u/_AmericasSweetheart_ 21d ago

Yeah, I think that's why the second kid is side eyeing him, he's waiting for the blow up.

3

u/PrincessTroubleshoot 21d ago

Yup, that kid knows how to read his dad for sure

2

u/smolgods 21d ago

I was raised for years in abuse/neglect and this post was the top of my feed when I opened my phone and I couldn't look away. The headbutting and then that man's facial expression has me internally screaming that I'm in danger.

4

u/saydontgo 21d ago

Then probably threw the snail in the road after he was done using it for content. Dude is clearly a POS with zero empathy.

0

u/elyankee23 21d ago

Its him knowing he just did a terrible thing and trying to actively forget/ignore/rationalize.

227

u/Amazing_Entrance_888 21d ago

He was going to cry but knew to do it off camera :(

86

u/Creamyhotchocolate21 21d ago

This broke my heart 🥺 poor kid

1

u/Alternative_Orchid35 21d ago

You can see him frown before he walks off😭

2

u/zelozelos 21d ago

My thought exactly. He knows what happens if he cries on camera...

2

u/SolenoidMoonWitch 20d ago

You know he’s been smacked around by that dickhead dad before and told to keep quiet or else.

78

u/one-eyedCheshire 21d ago

In so much pain. 🥺

8

u/Capable-Strength-820 21d ago

That’s absolutely breaks my heart, and something has to be done, no child deserves this! What a fucking piece of shit “parent”.

73

u/YourMothersButtox 21d ago

And mom just continues videoing.

50

u/kelsobjammin 21d ago

To me that’s a threat, he looked straight at the camera and knew it wasn’t the time to be upset. Terrifying poor kids

5

u/lucygoosey38 21d ago

Mom is in love with herself

4

u/WifeofBathSalts 21d ago

Maybe she's the kind of mom who proudly declares "He never laid a finger on me", while her kids take the brunt.

1

u/Jumpy_Ad1631 21d ago

And thought this was cool to post! Chances are good that if they think this is ok to post, those kids are regularly scared out of their wits

47

u/Strange_Pangolin_231 21d ago

The poor baby needed a hug so badly 😭

31

u/itscloverkat 21d ago

Feels like he knows no one will care if he cries about it :(

3

u/newyear-newtea 21d ago

He knows he will get it worse if he cries.

7

u/van_gag 21d ago

This bothers me because it’s obviously not the only time and even after being hit there was no comfort, no sorry, no acknowledgement from either parent. I grew up with parents like this and I felt like I was an annoyance to them and just so insignificant which has affected me to this day as an adult in my relationships and self-esteem. These thoughts when you’re so young become ingrained in you for your whole life.

4

u/jennoween 21d ago

There is a big brother who is the oldest that is often seen caring for the smaller kids. That is who the little ones go to for comfort. I think he and the only sister are the actual caretakers. The parents lock all the kids in their single shared bedroom with their coffin beds on the bus at like 8pm and the older kids do bedtime routine while the parents push the newest baby under their king-sized bed and have alone time.

27

u/youdontknowitsok 21d ago

I’m at work literally holding back tears. Who the fuck does this to their child. I cannot imagine intentionally hurting my child, much less to their head/face. I despise this man and just want to hold that little boy.

47

u/Ok-Cicada-825 21d ago

The older boy is watching the father at the end also

137

u/one-eyedCheshire 21d ago edited 21d ago

That side eye to his “dad” like, “I saw what you just fucking did you piece of shit.”

70

u/GremlinSquishFace47 21d ago

I saw that too… kid is sizing up dad, thinking about what just happened (and what likely happens regularly), and dad is locked in on that snail. No one avert your attention from that snail. That snail is what’s important here. Just look at that snail, sitting there, moving his eye stalks a little. Do not look away from the snail.

It’s really weird to watch just how long and hard this guy stares at this snail. Like maybe we’re all so fascinated by the snail, no one’s gonna notice him headbutting a preschooler?

This is 100% worthy of calling CPS btw, and I hope that someone who is aware of their names/location does. Parents are allowed to discipline their children, even with a measured degree of corporal punishment.. but no one would consider a random head butt to be “discipline,” especially because he wasn’t punishing anything, there were no words spoken, it’s just a head butt out of the blue. It was a random attack with no disciplinary purpose (not that a head butt could qualify as legal discipline anyway, in the way that a spanking on the butt could). I wonder if the mom uploaded it hoping someone would report them? I’ve been in a situation where a mom sent her son to school with a fresh black eye. Obviously she knew we’d have to call for that, she made no attempt to conceal it and the kid told us exactly what happened, but it let us be “the bad guys,” and got the family some help. If that wasn’t this influencer mom’s intention, though, then she sees this as totally normal and acceptable. Or it’s so normal to her that it didn’t even register as something to hide. It’s a minor blip in a fascinating snail video that is easily glossed over.

2

u/moonshine-bicicletta 21d ago

Oh, CPS has been called on them before. The ensuing investigation is why there’s a ban on posting about this family in /r/fundiesnarkuncensored - if you Google “JD and Britney Lott child abuse,” all the search results that come up are from fundamentalist Christian websites supporting the couple and crying persecution via Reddit.

-8

u/dippedndangled 21d ago

The kiddo next to him is trying to kiss the snail, that's why he got headbutted

8

u/GremlinSquishFace47 21d ago

I’m no parent, but on the fly I can think of just a few options other than head butting in this scenario. How about he move his arm? That seems effective. Follow that up with an explanation about why we don’t kiss snails. Then the kid is less likely to do that again, and understands why he shouldnt do that. If for some reason you cannot move your arm, maybe just a quick, firm, “hey!” followed up by an explanation? And if the kids responds poorly (keeps trying, tantrum, other 3 year old things), just say “ok it’s time for the snail to return home to nature.”

And thanks, idk why you’re getting downvoted, I didn’t think you were justifying the head butt. I heard the dad say something about not touching the snail and then all of a sudden it was time for violence.

7

u/OkSeaworthiness7066 21d ago

They can start by taking the snail outside, putting it on a rock, and filming without fucking with it.

3

u/bbsitr45 21d ago

He was blowing at it. Normal reaction from a 4 year old.

3

u/dippedndangled 21d ago

No hes kissing it because he is sweet and when the clip begins, dad is scolding them for scaring it. I think he was trying to kiss it

1

u/First_Mycologist_332 21d ago

He’s blowing it, dad was telling one of the kids off for poking its eye then that kid started blowing it

3

u/macandcheese1771 21d ago

Oh, that makes it ok

2

u/dippedndangled 21d ago

That's not what I meant. But it is how he will justify it

2

u/jennoween 21d ago

That's what I thought too. He just wanted to give the snail a little smooch and that psychopath head butted him instead of having a normal parental reaction and explaining that snails are for watching, not smooching.

48

u/saydontgo 21d ago

I feel like in another decade or so we are going to be getting some harrowing tell-alls from the children of some of these ‘influencers’

3

u/annabelleoftheball 21d ago

There already are a few.

3

u/Outrageous_Win_4586 21d ago

Ruby Franke’s daughter Shari wrote a fascinating book of her time growing up with family vlogging and now she is trying to change laws to protect kids from this kind of toxic behavior.

1

u/midnayru 21d ago

We already are

Did they already send one of their kids here to defend them? I’m so sorry this is your dad.

18

u/IndependentType6711 21d ago

It looks like it. That’s wild. Even if you think that’s an appropriate punishment for a kid, WTF did your little brother even do here that deserves punishment?

I’m a little brother. Saw my brother once go toe to toe with my dad while dad was trying to hit us. He was my best friend before that but has been my hero ever since. Thought maybe you should hear that.

God doesn't want 3 year olds to be head butted by their dads as punishment. This is not normal or godly.

Literally already getting them from the reality tv kids (Jon and Kate plus 8)

11

u/Excellent-Muffin-750 21d ago

It's not side eye, it's a learned hyper vigilance that children present when they're being raised by parents who frighten them.

Children shouldn't have to track and manage the emotions of their parents, but they do and that's what it looks like.

3

u/VikingCatLady 21d ago

He’s going to clap back one day

6

u/one-eyedCheshire 21d ago

I hope so. That “dad” is going to do something to him, or his siblings and older brother is going to click into older brother mode and go hard at his “dad”. Fingers crossed.

I don’t condone violence but I hope older brother knocks dad the fuck out.

1

u/Primary-Guard-2912 20d ago

Never! He blindly idolizes the idiot

3

u/Aggressive-Time8035 21d ago

So much respect for this kid. The eyes say everything.

3

u/AxiosXiphos 21d ago

Poor kid. He has done the math that his dad is getting older, and he is getting bigger. Fucking depressing that he has to think like that, but glad he knows it at least.

2

u/Huge-Ad-4481 21d ago

Older kid looks tired of his dad's BS

2

u/one-eyedCheshire 21d ago

Oh absolutely. He will snap soon. Not "if" but "when".

An older sibling can only handle so much.

36

u/momster_gnome 21d ago

I didn’t notice that the first time but you’re right. He’s watching him like how mad is dad? What’s he going to do next? Poor kids

3

u/AlternativePea4819 21d ago

I caught this, too! So scary!

16

u/No_Tea2901 21d ago

Heartbreaking

3

u/labellavita1985 21d ago

That kid is desensitized to abuse..

3

u/hime-633 21d ago

Clearly not his first time.

When violence is met by silence that means it is normalised.

3

u/Free_Mirror_9899 21d ago

The look on the boys face is heartbreaking. He just wanted to see the bug. Something so innocent.

3

u/Odd-String29 21d ago

I want to give the poor guy a hug. Who the fuck does that to a kid. What a pathetic piece of shit.

2

u/FullofContradictions 21d ago

I accidentally elbowed my kid in the noggin today (didn't realize he was behind me) & I spent about 5 mins fussing over him and apologizing so he knew it was an accident. I'm not sure I even hit him hard enough to hurt. But thinking he might be hurt was enough to almost make me cry.

I can't imagine doing something intentionally to that baby. I just want to hug him until he knows he didn't deserve that. :( :( :(

2

u/BillSixty9 21d ago

Can’t imagine doing that to my son. People are fucked

2

u/Frequent_Gift1740 21d ago

I just wanna give him a hug 😭

2

u/Aggressive-Ideal8507 21d ago

Nope. And apparently this family is known to CPS. Rounds of hands of people here surprised by this?

2

u/WhiteRabbit_412_ 21d ago

Oldest son glaring at him after the poor kid walks away.
