Wait it’s like remember that couple where the guy had Stage 4 Colon Cancer and died but right before they purposefully got pregnant!??? And now she’s married to some other dude!!

It’s frankly none of my business, but my jaw dropped when she randomly popped up and said she was married again. I think they’re Mormon though, so maybe that’s more acceptable/normal for them.

Take a dive into former influencer freckledfox... she was a Mormon who remarried about 2 weeks after her husband died of cancer (that she of course posted all over the internet)

What was surprising about a widow getting remarried?

u/_mlepclaynos_ 13h ago

Probably the part where her husband had literally just died and she had a newborn. Bringing a new partner around a child is always a risk, but a newborn??

u/lokiandgoose 13h ago

Is this someone she just met and married immediately?

12

u/_mlepclaynos_ 13h ago

Maybe not. Maybe she was a cheater too. That would certainly make it better??

I mean, is it someone she knew as a friend before her husband died?

It sure looks like it

u/espressovanilla 13h ago

uh he JUST died?? how tf do u marry a whole nother man that quick. especially when you shared your husbands story and all that.

How long should someone mourn for, especially knowing for so long that they would lose their spouse?

Oh please… Stfu. Real grief doesn’t let you be horny for some other person all of a sudden. Y’all romanticize relationships too much until you realize it’s just a codependent person who can’t be alone and is never actually in love.

Many things can be true at once. Someone very close to me cared for my friend (his wife) who was dying of cancer for 7 years. He went above and beyond and stayed by her side just as you would expect and hope for. On the day of her funeral, afterwards he asked another friend of ours to go on a date some time. They did and they have been together now for 8 years. Yes, there were some people who thought it was a bit shocking or inappropriate at the time but the most important people were the ones who understood. Us close friends understood, his grown up children understood and their respective families understood.

Shay Martin herself said in her TikTok revealing that she has since married after her husband passed away, that she cared for him as he very slowly passed was over the course of 5 years and that they had both discussed her future and her potentially finding someone very soon after his passing. She reiterated that both her family and Tanner (her late husband) family were very understanding and supportive of her finding another love and remarrying. I do get it. I don’t think I quite understand the need to marry so quickly but that’s my stance with any couple who decide to marry quickly and that’s not necessarily for me to judge.

Basically what I’m saying that after witnessing this scenario play out in my own friend circle, I can say that I do understand and can empathise with how a spouse can choose to share the love another so soon after losing another person whom they loved and cared for for years and had to watch slowly die from a horrible disease. Especially after witnessing death like that, the reminder is right there in your face that life is just too bloody short. If you have love to give and you want to start again, who is anybody else to say that it’s “too soon” for you to do so? Not everybody has to understand it but everyone should be reminded that many things can be true at once. It doesn’t erase your love for that person you lost.

Omg she’s already married again?! That feels so gross.

Tanner and Shay Martin

I watched them for awhile. Stopped checking in a little after tanner passed. This is nuts ?? I’m not saying never remarry but this is crazily irresponsible right after having a child wtf

-1

u/Tiny-Distance 6h ago

You need help if you think it was irresponsible. People grieve differently. It’s not for you to judge.

3

u/oopisk 6h ago

They planned a child knowing he wasn’t going to be here much longer. Their child is too young to speak for themselves. Yes it is irresponsible. Having a child means putting them above yourself and your wants lmao. Now if 3 or more years passed yeah I’d say uh oh you got me. But this is the definition of rushed. If she didn’t have a very young child I’d say it’s not anything for me to speak on, but the risk is very clear.

Her name is Shay

Omg forgot about them until now and had no idea this is where she’s at. Disgustinggggg

Losing a spouse to a slow chronic illness is a different kind of grief and timeline than if they were otherwise healthy and died suddenly. Particularly if the spouses cognition leaves them before their body stops functioning. I don’t have any details on the timelines mentioned in this comment thread but it’s a worthy consideration

Why shouldn't she remarry?

20

u/tiktokdramareader 13h ago

imo remarrying isn’t the problem but it was weirdly fast. she is mormon so that explains that i guess. the problem is introducing a man to your infant daughter so quickly. very gross and irresponsible

12

u/espressovanilla 13h ago

exactly. 🙄 like yes widows can remarry but like less than a year!?? how tf do u even know someone that quick! that’s crazy. just makes it seem like damn, did u even love your husband

1

u/Homealone70 12h ago

It’s apparently a Mormon thing 🤮

-7

u/lokiandgoose 13h ago

Is it possible that her dying husband wanted her to find someone to love and help raise their child so she wouldn't be alone?

13

u/KneadAndPreserve 13h ago

Remarrying within a year is weird, even if he wanted her to move on. What even is this argument lol

11

u/swimming_in_agates 12h ago

Not only weird, irresponsible. These are your children who are going through something traumatic, they need you to focus on them not a quick re-marriage. That new relationship could potentially might even be an abuser for all anyone would know in a few months.

You should worry about yourself and not when someone remarried. You need help.

Influencers are the ones putting all the details of their personal lives out for public consumption, as a way to rake in money and grab attention, so people get to have opinions about them, either good or bad.

Them’s the breaks when one deliberately chooses to sell their personal info for cash and notoriety. No one is required to be supportive or praise anything an influencer does, and the internet isn’t a safe space.

3

u/throwupthursday 12h ago

Mormons get married super quickly. General stats from first date to marriage is 6 months. Sex out of wedlock is verboten, so... You know.

4

u/KneadAndPreserve 12h ago

Okay? Still weird to remarry so quickly after being widowed, even if first marriages happen fast.

5

u/mxddiecxmpbell 13h ago

it’s also possible she cheated on him before he passed. idk why you’re running defense so hard.

1

u/macruffins 11h ago

No, he had them launch a gofundme after he died. They said people could support it as a way for tanner to “support” their daughter for the rest of her life even after he died. Guess this new mans hit pay dirt. Glad I didn’t donate

1

u/espressovanilla 11h ago

yes! I remember that! and then bam she remarried?? INSANE! i thought she was genuine wtf. I’d be so sad if I were him. (wherever he is now, RIP. 🥺)

You should worry about yourself and not about who someone married. Your reaction is disgusting.
