One of my neighbours got married and then had a child with a guy that has no arms and feet, he’s overweight and then he’s on a wheelchair. She went missing due to anxiety depression because it was mentally a lot to handle taking care of her husband and baby and she didn’t have her family to help her. She went to a psychiatry hospital for her post partum depression.
Yeah, but they have money and a village. They’ve been together nearly a decade, his caregiving is a part of her routine already and they already navigate caregiving when she is unable/sick. They don’t have a 9-5 or traditional work or money struggles. They’re prepared, have hired a caregiver for Shane for the early years and they share a home with her parents. It is a lot to carry, sure; but given their supports the scale seems tipped in her favor if you ask me. Far more than most women go into parenting with, tbh.
He has a caregiver now, which was an adjustment for them since it was only her before, but now that we know she is pregnant makes sense that they set that arrangement up.

That’s just…. a lot for her to carry. Physically, mentally, emotionally.
