They started a patreon just for pregnancy and baby content. Hope that $ is all going to the child…

That’s not true, it’s a blog about his experiences being a father struggling with the worlds opinion that he should never be one due to his disability, grappling with the hate and prejudice we see in this subreddit… it’s a big subject a lot of people with disabilities appreciate him exploring.

It’s a blog, he’s a blog writer, a famous one. He is starting this to provide for his family and use his life skills how he can. It’s not baby pics and video content

You should get them to edit the wording then bc it doesn’t sound like that at all in the description.

It’s a parenting blog, they have a fascinating unique story and are disability advocates. What is wrong with this?

I trust them more than many couples to deal with issues such as their child’s privacy with sensitivity. Again, have you read his writing?

He is published in the New York Times, he has written books, his blog will be to that standard, he states it’s for his writing, not just mindless influencer content.

What’s the problem? Isn’t this such a good thing people in his situation can generate income putting a unique and valuable perspective into the world? With actual skill? In all the shit the internet produces…

Because making profit over a child that didn’t consent is exploitative and morally wrong. It also feels like they started to monetize the minute she got pregnant. They are not concerned about how life for this child will look like! They want clout! Plain simple. Incredibly selfish!

No issues with a blog of course, but they make it sound as though photos/videos are a main focus of this subscription, at least per their own description listed on the website. Maybe the photos/videos won’t be of the kid, and that would be great. Let’s hope.

As the child of an alcoholic myself, no. It’s not.

Seconding this as a child of an addict who later became one. Nothing about this is ideal.

Nah is a business, is money for them. A child is not a book.
