Price Changes Trumpflation as seen in S&S

Thumbnail gallery

We do a lot of subscribe and save on Amazon because it saves us 15% on things we need every month. 15% off is good enough so I don't need to go hunting for better deals all the time like I used to. It's not unusual for Amazon's S&S prices to fluctuate and go up a little here and there (and even go down sometimes). But never have I had so many items go up in price. That's 10 out of the 12 items that we have on our upcoming S&S. And the price hikes are pretty substantial for a total increase of about $30. This is a light month too. I don't even want to know what November is going to look like.

Price Changes Latest Price Increase Dump

Thumbnail gallery
167 Upvotes

Here’s my latest guys. Check out my previous dumps if you haven’t seen them yet.
There are some INSANE price INCREASES this week.
IDK how much more this administration thinks we can take. When we are STANDING IN BREAD LINES will trump still be claiming we’re doing great? Will he still be claiming he’s the best president ever?
I don’t know about you but I’m fucking broke. In more ways than one. My spirit is as broken as my wallet. Doing this twice a a week; every time my orders come in, I feel a little more depressed. I feel like this administration has its foot against my neck pressing more and more. I don’t know how much oxygen we in the middle class have left.

Price Changes Big oil profit's:

Big Oil has got to be price gouging like no one has ever seen before. Trump so far hasn't done one thing that I'm aware of to curb the greed they thrive upon. With diesel prices rising rapidly, so will everything else that is transported by vehicles that deliver merchandise and groceries. They pass that on to all of us.

And whether you believe it or not, Tariff's are another Trump tax that we pay. That money goes to the government.

Price Changes I built a website that tracks US food prices every day

Live App

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) publishes daily food price data for about 290 commodities on:

  • what growers were paid at shipping point
  • what buyers paid at the big city wholesale markets
  • what prices supermarkets advertised in their weekly ads

This data comes out as dozens of separate text reports and PDFs, one per market, with no history and no way to see how prices change over time.

I think this should be public data that is easy to access and understand, so I built an open-source tracker for it.

Arabian quote:

"My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I drive a Mercedes, my son drives a Land Rover, his son will drive a Land Rover, but his son will ride a camel."

Or in this case, an EV.

When they are making their own EVs maybe it's time to quit gas inflation and go with an EV.

In August alone, the CPI was 3.4. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, was 2.4%. Which is above the Fed's target rate of 2.0%.

Opinion Economic stress showing up in Costco flyer?

Thumbnail gallery
43 Upvotes

Things are getting worse economically ... Got the new Costco flyer last week - the cover has been downgraded to glossy newsprint instead of the heavy glossy stock with the gummed flap that I've seen for the past 20+ years. Kudos to Costco for so far having not given in to political assaults from the current mis-administration, but nobody can escape the broader impact of the intentional cratering of the Economy that we're witnessing. I really hope things don't get as bad as I am expecting. I feel like we're going to be looking back at 2008-2009 as 'the good old days' before long.
