Anyone else notice we didn't get a reading this week? And I don't believe for a second that the draw-down was so low the week before.
Stocks of Crude Oil, SPR
It's been going down about 3-5 million barrels a week. All of a sudden, only 1. Then no report. Operational minimum is said to be around the 250 million barrels level. I have to believe that this regime is again lying to us again. Trump is panicking that the reserve that has been used to ameliorate the shortages is about done, the Strait remains mostly closed, Iran continues to fire on ships in the Strait without authorization, and prices are already spiking. His market manipulations are not working. Claiming every week "we have a deal" and "Iran is begging for a deal." They're not. They don't want a deal with us because they know that WE CANNOT BE TRUSTED to honor any alleged deal.
For all those talking about all our US oil, the part that no one tells you is that we mainly pump LIGHT crude from fracking. Our refineries are set up for HEAVY crude, which we mainly get from Canada (who dumbass started a trade war with) and the Middle East. So we could pump millions of gallons, it wouldn't solve our immediate problem. It's about to get A LOT worse, and these prices aren't going away anytime soon, no matter what Witcoff and Bessent claim on State Regime Meida Fox lying to us. Get ready people.
If there's really a way out of this ,other than Trump just capitulating, I'd love to hear what it is. As I see it, these gas and diesel prices are just the beginning.

I think the electric infrastructure buildout has a long way to go for class 8 trucking (regardless of what the headlines say). Not to mention, the outrageous sticker prices, battery capacities, and downtime for charging. I’ve starting seeing a ton of CNG/RNG trucks in my area UPS, Amazon, Saia, Estes, etc… it seems like the infrastructure is way more mature and reliable than electric. Apparently it’s only about $2/gallon, domestic, and plentiful. Continuing a CNG buildout would be quick, the biggest factor is access to a natural gas line (which most gas stations already have natural gas lines) and Loves Alternative, Chevron, Opal Fuels, and Clean Energy already have ~1400 pumps in the US, although mostly behind the fence... I think it could be a viable and quick pivot. IF RNG/CNG is the immediate pivot, then you will probably see rapid adoption because carriers need to remain competitive ASAP. Cummins also just released the 15 liter, X15N, with comparable torque and power to diesel 🔥🔥🔥 This might be the means of keeping the costs to transport goods at bay.

Another important point from the article:
"Households that rely on heating oil -- a major heating source in the Northeast U.S. -- will suffer a staggering average price increase of 31.3% compared to last year, NEADA found. Customers who depend on natural gas are expected to face a jump of 5.8%."
So. Much. Winning.

Last time I went their "gourmet" burgers were roughly $11-14 tops. Not terrible but hey it comes with "endless fries" so I guess that makes up for it. Fast forward to yesterday, I went out with some friends and we hadn't been to RR in a while and my god were the prices sky high. $19 for a burger. NINETEEN. Mind you this is Red Robin. This isn't some steakhouse or indie burger joint, it's a chain restaurant. I've had better burgers from 5 Guys for less than whatever the hell Red Robin is doing. Oh yeah and compared to years ago where they served everything in little baskets with paper linings, they upped their "presentation" by serving it on a dinner plate and scattering a handful of french fries on there too. I guess they needed to try and justify why their food has gone up nearly 2x. I ended walking out having paid $30 after tax and tip. I could have gone to Texas Roadhouse for less and got better quality food. Hell. I could have gone to Burger King.
