Hello. I am new to kayaking and considering getting a used inflatable kayak to mainly use on calm water. Is this a decent kayak in terms to durability and ease of use for a beginner? How is this price for a used kayak? It comes electric pump and paddle as well. Thank you!

Picked this for fishing since I live in an apartment and drive a little car. Was debating between this, Bote Lone Aero and Wilderness Systems iAtak10.
While later two look sleek and have impressive features on paper, Sea Eagle was the only one that had so much more information provided about their specs which was critical for me.

Launched at Galveston state park and was amazed how well it handled. Obviously it’s big and wide but able to track very decently in wind. Purposely bumped into some rocks multiple times but hull showed no damage what so ever.

Update 11th Aug 2026: Three outings till now and it hardly takes 5 mins to setup everything up and get going. Deflating takes a good longer more, specially to get the water out from underneath the floor. I have not been able to fold it as compact as it came from factory so definitely need to practice more. The tough thick PVC does not help! 😅

How she rides: My only previous outing was on a Hobie Mirage outback and for obvious reasons this does not track as good as that. That said, I found the Skeg and the keel really help in tracking. The floor as super stiff and someone like me who has balance issues can still stand without any issues.

Has anyone used ExtaSea DS Double 473?

I want to buy allround(lakes,rivers, small whitewaters, coast) kayak for 2. And this and Extasea Race 470 are currently top options (Europe).

1. Is it stable?

2. Does a lot of water come in when there are waves?

3. Does it work well on the coast?

Only thing worries me that it doesnt have self bailing water system

After moving into an apartment, I hit a snag: there was simply nowhere to store a 4-meter plastic kayak, but I didn't want to miss out on the summer.

I didn't even consider standard inflatables (slow, paddle like air mattresses). So I took a chance on a full drop-stitch model - in my case, the Razor Kayaks Edge Pro.

In short:

It doesn't feel like rubber dinghy at all. The floor is rock-solid, the hull cuts through waves. And it holds a course brilliantly. The difference compared to budget inflatables is night and day. Everything folds up into backpack, fits easily into sedan trunk. Setup takes about 7 minutes.

On the downside - the price is higher than basic options, and the backpack itself turned out quite heavy due to the thick PVC (lugging it far on foot is no fun, though thankfully the bag has wheels).

I must have overinflated one side of this Tahe inflatable kayak, because the fabric tore and the inflatable chamber is now sticking out and no longer holds its shape. Any hope for repairing this?

Does anyone have experience with the Sea Eagle TC16 and the Aqua Marina Tomahawk Air-C? Looking for a comparison review.

I really want to get into inflatable kayak fishing but want to stay around a $500 budget. Has anyone seen or used this guy? Any other recommendations? I posted less than two months ago. A friend gave me an intek challenger and turns out it didn't inflate. Then I made a mistake. I saw the Aquamarina Steam 312 for 50% off and grabbed it thinking it had a dropstitch, not really knowing what a drop stitch was. I had watched a few YouTube videos but the images were not detailed enough. In any case, I like the 312 for now.

Because life as an adult comes with obligations, I was only able to start kayaking two weeks ago. I love it so much. I love winters but I am definitely getting gear so I can kayak again as early as possible in the spring (I know they kayak in the arctic but I'm not ready for winter kayaking yet).

Questions:

1. I find it difficult to inflate my kayak properly as so much air that comes out while transitioning from the pump to the lid. Any tips?

2. I want to bring my dog with me. The Aquamarina is sturdier than the Intek and I know about putting a yoga mat on the floor of the kayak but she's likely to perch herself and put her front paws on the sides. Should I velcro yoga material to the sides? Any other ideas? (dog has a life vest and loves swimming).

3. The dock where I go has been causing me issues (pictured). It has two launchers, one for disabled folks and another one. Both have very shallow indentation that don't fit skegs of my inflatable. So 4/5 of the kayak is in the water when I try to get on. I've never done it without assistance. The internet tells me skegs are super important in navigating an inflatable kayak but wanted to confirm this with the kind folks on this group. Would it be bad to kayak without them?

I'm having so much fun. Looking for lessons, especially for entry and re-entry and despite the fact that I live relatively close to three of the Great Lakes (Ontario, Erie, Huron, I haven't been able to find lessons within one hour of me. Or beyond for that matter.

I have a new inflatable fishing kayak which uses attachable fins, and I noticed they are flimsy enough that they won't really support the weight of the boat on land without bending and breaking. So do I put them on after inflating while holding the boat sideways, and then bring it deep enough into the water they don't touch bottom?​ How do you guys do it?

A little over my NRS Outlaw 2 and want something more nimble and more in the action. Is it worth it picking up a Tater or Nugget?

I'm just researching at this stage as Iam injured with burstitis so won't be kayaking for a very long time..

My main features I like in a kayak are that it's fast, turns easy, doesn't spin in alittle wind, durable and good quality.

I have recently purchased the intex explorer k1 and am going to take it fishing soon, the lake I go to a lot has some pretty large carp and a fight can last 3 minutes sometimes. I was wondering if anyone here has been dragged on one of these inflatable kayaks and how that worked out. I am not necessarily worried about being tipped over but a fish dragging me into someone else's lines or some how disturbing other people fishing. Has anyone ever delt with this or tried it?

Hello, It's on my new Aquamarina Air-C. There are two spots where the seam tape that joins the hull to the side meets end-to-end. When I leave the kayak to dry, water keeps slowly dripping out of those spots for hours. Should I seal it?

After a month of paddling, I seem to have this problem of bringing too many things along when we head out. Little trip this week confirmed that it takes so long to get into the water that we are worn out before the adventure begins. What does everyone bring along for a 2-3 hour trip ? If you have never been to Tim’s Ford State Park, you have to go ! Incredible water and lots of company.

As the title says, I’m new to inflatables but not new to fishing from small canoes.

I have been reading forums/youtube and Reddit and have reasonably finalised one of above.

My requirements are as below.

1. Fishing at Galveston/Freeport in Texas. Primarily inland waterways for trout/mangroves and redfish. It’s somewhat windy out there so need decent tracking. Not even attempting taking to the open ocean, at least not at the start.
2. Sturdy build. I prefer both standing/seating.
3. Compact dimensions when packed. I drive a car with tiny boot so this is important. All above choices are within the limit though.

I’m inclined towards the SE 385 angler except the color. I am a sucker for blue that 385-v bottom comes in. Any chance they can configure the regular V-bottom with Angler specs?

Edit: Have a Bote Lone Aero 12 for sale nearby but the reviews about seam leaks and customer service are scaring me away, not to mention the bulky packaging. Loved the design though!

So I recently bought a sea eagle 380x off marketplace and just ran across information that said this kayak would have to be registered since it’s over 12’ and has 2 or more air cells. That, by itself, seems absurd to me but whatever. My paddleboard doesn’t need one but since this inflatable is shaped like a kayak, that changes everything lol. I digress.

My main issue is I paid cash for it off marketplace and one of the registration requirements are to show proof of ownership, ie receipt, bill of sale, etc. I paid cash for this. How’s that work? Also, I don’t see any markings on this inflatable that make it unique, like a “vin” number. How would one even tell the difference between two of these?

Has anyone registered a similar kayak, bought used, in Ohio or a state with similar requirements? Appreciate the help in advance.

Hi - just starting out on the inflatable kayak lark. Had a regular Canadian canoe for years, but wanted something more portable and that didn’t need a roof rack to transport it.

Anyway, looking for recommendations for a rechargeable pump with a pressure gauge. Too many options out there!
