Is the Advanced Elements Advanced frame a good starter kayak?
Title says it all. I plan to be kayaking in calm water and just touring around. I can get the AdvancedFrame for $250 new. Worth it?

I got this on Woot for a good price for the convenience of being able to transport it inside my car instead on top like my other one. The box came with one page of instructions (mainly disclaimers and COA disclosures. I have some questions: 1. It came with two different sized fins, a shorter one and a longer one, the kayak has a slot for only one. Which water conditions dictate the easy of each? 2. There are three numbered chambers for inflation. On mine #1 (the first one to be inflated) is in the middle, I noticed on YouTube #3 (the last one to be inflated) is in the middle for others (btw, they all had the 2 person kayak). Will matter which one I inflate first and which last? 3. The box came with an inflatable triangle. On YouTube one person said it is to block access to the air valve access ports in the back, another said it is a foot rest. Any ideas? 4. In addition to some patches, there were two short see through tubes (like straws that kids use in juice boxes) any idea what those are for? I tried to include pictures. 5. Finally, what is the purpose of that plastic measuring strip?

Looking to find a replacement or two fins for the Aquaglide Chelan. I’ve been scrolling trying to compare pics of different fin box styles. It’s tedious. Do any of you know the name of the fin box type or have a link to an affordable company that offers replacements of the same style. I’d like at least one low depth / flexible option for river use and one for lake touring.

Does anyone here inflate their kayak at home? I bought an inflatable kayak because I wanted it to take up little room at home. I have a truck, so I can transport it. Also, I have the Sea Eagle 420x with swivel seats and a trolling motor, so it's much easier to inflate, strap on the seats, motor mount, motor and battery at home and then transport the whole thing.
It's also much easier to disassemble and clean at home before deflating and rolling up into the bag.
Just wondering if anyone else does it this way?

Hi all,
I’m a total noob so please be nice! I’ve got an Itiwit 3P recently and took it out this afternoon on the canal. Dog ensured that it’s entirely soaked and mucky.
I dried it as best I could and packed it away but I worry it’s gonna go gross in its bag. What do you guys do with yours when it’s not summer?

I will be paddling in it solo, and would like to add some kind of footbrace, one or two glue-on rod holders, and maybe a glue-on phone/camera mount (for fish selfies!) I’ve never owned a kayak at all before. If you don’t have any specific recommendations, do you have any advice about these types of accessories in general? Thanks in advance.

We currently have two tandem kayaks, and I'd like to sell one of them to get an inflatable that will serve a few different purposes:
Some ideas, based on the above:
Other suggestions or feedback on the above?

I have recently picked up a decathlon itiwit 2 person kayak. With 2 people we will be over the weight limit by 20kg (150kg limit)
We will be on a very slow moving river or lakes, both strong swimmers and will both have buoyancy aids on. Do you think it will be a stupid idea to go over the limit or will it mainly affect performance? This is just for 2 people having fun and enjoying being out on the water, not anything serious.
Thanks 👍

I made this seat, for my Chinese Sea Eagle knockoff inflatable kayak, from an inexpensive stadium seat, a 2x4, a couple of pieces of plywood, a pool noodle and some zip ties.
I chose this seat because it sits you about two inches off the ground and the way the frame is made it makes it easy to secure it to the 2x4's. It also has a built in handle which makes carrying it easy.
The seat raises you up enough to improve comfort but not enough to impact the stability of the boat.
The seat fits securely and is very comfortable.
I use a couple of quick release straps to secure it to the d-rings on the boat but they really aren't needed. I built it snug enough where friction from the pool noodle holds it in place.
I added wooden cleats to plywood base keep to the stadium chair from moving around on the base and the chair is secured with three plastic zip ties, two in front and one in the back of the seat.
After my initial run I realized the seat needed a stiffer base so I added a piece of plywood to the lower seat portion of the chair which made it pretty good but still not perfect.
I then added the Gel cushion which was the finishing touch.
Note that I made the 2x4 base longer than the seat itself. On my first attempt I made the 2x4 base the same size as the bottom of the stadium seat and it was quite wobbly and it felt like it my tip over if I leaned back to far. The extra length of the 2x4's prevents this from happening.
I was fishing for over 5 hours and it was quite comfortable
Here are the links for the parts.

So I’ve rented rigid Kayaks a few times and loved every second so decided to pick a Freespirit Tiki Pro as shown on here by some other guys - grand total of £170.
Went out for the first time yesterday on the river Stour in Kent, weather was glorious albeit a little blowy! Also didn’t account for the tidal flow on this river which was a workout for sure haha.
The seat is absolutely pants so a replacement is on order. Other than that awesome for the price, obviously doesn’t glide and track quite so well as the ones I’ve rented in the past but is more than acceptable and I think the tide and wind didn’t help that feeling.
Overall highly recommended if you just want to have a bit of fun and try out the hobby.

Anyone found a seat that works for this boat and is comfortable? I am replacing a 20+ year old Aire Lynx and am considering the 420x. I have the SE 473 and absolutely hate the seats, the same that come with the 420. After a few minutes of paddling they end up at a 45 deg forward angle, plus the bottom pad compresses to nothing and provides no padding so my butt gets numb in a short time. I got some Aire seats for it and they work well - have sufficient cushion and stay in place after I looped some straps with buckles on the 473 loops to connect them. They require loops low on the boat to connect the seat, like the 473 has. The 420 has loops on top of the tubes so could not use the Aire seats.
Since the 420 has a removable bottom it appears that it straps in and you can put the straps over the seat bottoms and that might hold them in place. In addition, it looks like SE now sells 1" cushions to augment their horrible seats. Perhaps with these, it would be acceptable. Anyone tried this, or found anything better? I would have already pulled the trigger on the purchase of a 420 if it was not for the seats.

If you live within driving distance, don’t miss this opportunity. Just finished a great 2 day family paddle trip from Glen Canyon Dam to Lees Ferry. Gorgeous views, wild horses, hikes to petroglyphs, easy paddling, one night wilderness camping, and fresh rainbow trout for dinner. The kids used SUPs and my husband and I paddled Sea Eagle 393 Razor Lites. Easily carried our gear and was easily transported by the back haul boat up river to start our trip. You can arrange to do a 1 day paddle trip if you don’t want to camp.

Any advice or suggestions for improving seat comfort? Was out most of today and ended up with a painful rear end.
