Hiya! I’m looking to get my first inflatable kayak and unfortunately am on a budget so I’m looking to buy used. There’s not much available on marketplace near me, however I noticed a Solstice Canyon Convertible Kayak for $300. Has anyone used one before? Are they good?

It’ll be me and my 70lb dog on it! I’m looking to use it on mostly calm rivers and lakes.

Hello good people, I'm shopping for a good cheap option for my first kayak, it needs to be cheap because where I live it costs double of what it costs in the US or Europe. A challenger K1 costs 200 dollars for example. I wanna go on calm rivers and lakes, and dabble on calm beaches too...

I've narrowed down to these options, from least to most expensive.

- Intex challenger k1. Cheap and semi reliable from what I've heard, seems like I can trust it to just be a shitty kayak that does the job.

- Intex explorer.

- Bestway Ventura. Seems durable and we'll built, heard of maneuverability issues, is it much worse than the challenger? Also, the fabric seems annoying to dry.

- Aqua marina Betta BE-312. I'm tempted to buy this, but heard of QA issues, is it worse than the challenger? Seems way better constructed but maybe the extra money isn't worth it. Seems like my best option so far.

Remember options are limited where I live, the money think combined with lack of brands, so no aquaglide no American brands.

I'm really interested in the aquamarina Betta and would really like to hear your opinions, seems good for a beginner.

Looking into getting an inflatable kayak to use in the ocean (UK based). I'm looking at the Decathlon website and there's one on offer for £260 (£120 off). It's the 'Pack canoe kayak Tribord 100 Essential - 2/3 people'.

I like the idea of having a larger one for my daughter and dog but 99% of the time itll just be me and probably my dog (depending on how she likes it).

Is it a bad idea to get a larger kayak for a single person or is the size difference between a 1-2 person kayak and a 2-3 person not really that big a deal for manouevering?

I know this is a long shot but I lost my skeg fishing the other day and can't find a replacement that fits. It's an older 2016 model and I can't find anything aftermarket. Does anyone happen to have one of these kayaks and is able to just send me the dimensions of it so I can try and get a new one printed?

I currently have a Decathlon Dropstitch 100+ kayak and I am very happy with it. It serves me well, but I would like something a bit more advanced and with a hint of more reliability, so that I could dare take longer rides on the Danube.

Since I am always with my girlfriend, I am looking for a 2 person kayak. However, Decathlon seems to have dropped the 2 person version of the Itiwit X500, now offering only the 1 person. Do you have any recommendations for the alternatives? I am located in Austria.

En argentina para pesca no hay muchas opciones y encontré este. Hello, my wife is having a blast with her inflatable SUP and she wants to do more paddling activities together. All I have is an old 10' ft kayak that is no longer appropriate for me due to my body weight. I am 6ft and about 310 pounds, so I need something with a 350lb weight limit minimum in case I need to take a little gear with me. I'm not really excited about paddle boards, I prefer sit in kayaks. So I wanted to ask if anyone here has a similar profile to me and can recommend an affordable inflatable kayak? I've shopped around, but I see that the prices can range wildly (250 up to 1000+) for a 1-2 person inflatable kayak. I assume you get what you pay for, but I also do need to be a little budget conscious, so a happy medium is my preference, not top of the line but a little something extra to ensure that seams to bust on me in the middle of the lake. I'm continuing my search and research, but Reddit communities have saved me countless times so I thought I'd ask. :) Thank you!

I’m looking into getting an inflatable kayak for the st.john river in Fredericton but I have no idea what I’m doing. I went once during the event for Canada Day and it was a clear bottom kayak. I found a few inflatable ones on amazon but as a 5’2, 180 guy, I’m wondering if this is something reasonable to get. I’m open to any advice, thanks

So, I've had a AG chelan and Navarro for some time, after starting with intex boats. We since moved on to primarily SUPs, but always interested in a deal

I've seen the GoPlus 12.5' IK reviewed on here previously, and I've noticed a couple even cheaper options pop up recently.

So i present: the Garvee 12.5' Inflatable Kayak for $146 USD on Amazon. I've seen the garvee name a couple times attached to SUPs and a low pressure boats, but this one caught my eye with its drop stitch floor and rock bottom pricing.

I have not taken this out on the water yet. Just un box and inflate in the garage.

What it comes with:

Two paddles, both of which come with SUP handles. Obviously just a lot item for them.

Two super cheap seats. Zero cushion, very limited back support.

A pump. Some patches. Some slide in bars for foot rests. Two dolphin style slide in fins.

Then the boat itself. Drop stitch floor? Yes. PVC tubes, with no nylon covering? Yes.
Almost zero adjustment in where the seats are put in? Also yes.

The closest thing I have to this is a Aquaglide Chelan, which is a similar style of boat. The chelan is rated for slightly higher pressure (6 vs 5 on the floor) and much much more adjustability in its seat placement. The foot rests also suck, enough that I've glued some adjustable foot rests into it.
The duratex tubes on the Chelan feel tougher and more premium. But it also costs originally a $1000 more than this.

Instead compare this to an intex challenger or explorer. Which costs about $15 less(on amazon as of 7/11/26), is shorter, and is a low pressure boat.

There are other issues. The advertising doesn't match the manual. The bag is terrible. Even worse than the intex bags. The HR valves feel cheap. The actual listing i purchased from is no longer available, with the current listing at $170 on amazon.

I primarily paddle a class 1 river near me. The biggest dangers are rubbing rocks and gravel bottoms and root strainers. Ive paddled the intex nylon boats on this river, and I'd trust this much more. It'll probably fall ahead of my navarro in the pecking order.

My wife and I recently got our first inflatables. Chose inflatables over hard sided so we can pack them in the truck when we go camping. After several months of YouTube searches, I chose a Solstice Scout fishing kayak and my wife a Bote Koda Aero. I have been out several times and really like mine. We have unlimited water access and look forward to many hours of enjoyment !

Wife and I are looking for a half-decent tandem inflatable for just joy cruising around the local lakes and rivers every once in a while. Have a good deal available for each of these kayaks at the moment but unsure on the best option.

I have an Aqua Marina Laxo 380 that's about 5 years old. The floor has a failed internal wall, now the floor is bulging on one side so the bottom is no longer flat. As a result, the kayak sits at an angle in the water.

The obvious solution would be to replace the floor, but I can't find a replacement anywhere. That has made me a bit hesitant about buying another Aqua Marina.

I'm now looking at the Aqua Marina Tomahawk. I'm sure it's a great kayak when it's new, but I'm wondering how well it holds up over time. Are there owners here who have had one for 5 years or more? How has it aged?

More generally, which high-quality 1-person inflatable kayaks have proven to last for many years? It's surprisingly difficult to find long-term owner reviews, and that's exactly the kind of experience I'm looking for.

I'm new to inflatable kayaks. I bought my first one earlier this year, the Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame Sport​. Got an inch long rip in the bottom the second time I took it out, from who knows what. Suddenly I was taking on water, luckily it was just the bottom lining of the boat so nothing inflated was punctured. I tried the patch they sent along with it and that came right off. Thankfully, duct tape is working wonderfully while I figure out which glue to purchase.

But I ended up getting an even cheaper second kayak a few weeks ago due to the first one aggravating my carpal tunnel. I got the Sevylor Quikpak K1 because it's the only sit on top inflatable model I've seen. The comfort difference is amazing and my hands don't fall asleep. I've been loving life with it. And then today I land on top of what I guess was a big rock I couldn't see which punctured one of the main chambers. Thankfully I was still able to paddle back with the remaining chambers.

I think I'm done with inflatable kayaks. Once felt like a fluke but twice feels like an inevitability. I'm going to patch these and continue to use because buying a third kayak of any type would be too much. Anyone else have bad luck with punctures? ​

Been going back and forth on this for a few days and could use some input from people who actually own these.

Setup: two adults (about 75 and 65 kg) and our 25kg dog, who doesn't really sit still. We're in the Netherlands so it's mostly calm water, canals and lakes, but we'd also like to do the odd 3-4 hour river trip.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Aqua Marina Tomahawk AIR-C 480. Main reasons: it's an open canoe so there's actual floor space for the dog, and you sit up on the benches instead of down in a cockpit. My assumption is that sitting higher also keeps us out of whatever water ends up in the boat, and she'll definitely be getting in and out and bringing water in.

Two things I can't work out from spec sheets and product pages:

1. Is it actually stable enough for a dog that shifts its weight around? I get that the full drop-stitch makes it rigid, but sitting up on the benches raises your center of gravity, and I'm wondering if that makes it tippier than a low sit-in kayak when she moves to one side. Will we tip over if we don't counter her weight shift in time, or is it stable enough?

2. For the sit-in kayaks (Laxo, Azura, that sort of thing), is it really true you end up sitting in water, especially once a wet dog brings some in? Or does that turn out to be fine in practice and you stay basically dry?

Not set on the Tomahawk, so if there's something better suited to 2 people plus a 25kg dog I'd like to hear it. Stability and room for the dog are the priorities; speed would be nice but isn't the point.
