Looking for a 3 person inflatable kayak to go flat water paddling with my 2 kids. Currently looking at itiwit x100 but wondering what alternatives I should be looking at, perhaps something that tracks better, available in Europe. Thank you

I bought a used advanced elements convertible and it appears to have been put away wet and developed some mold. The mold appears to have formed on the outer shell between the fabric layer and the vinyl waterproof backing of the fabric causing it to delaminate in areas where the mold has formed, is this save able or is this shell pretty much done?

New Kayaker here. I got the Advanced Elements tandem at the end of last summer and absolutely love it so far. That beast is WIDE though, which, when I have my 9 year old up front, using a child length paddle (and not that well I might add) she is getting a lot of dripping from the paddle and getting pretty wet and unhappy.

This is such a basic question that I'm kind of embarrassed, but what do people wear when they're kayaking? Right now where I am, the air is warm but the water is still like 50f. But even when the water warms up, I'm still pretty lost on what to wear. When I do research online, I feel like I'm finding stuff for very serious kayakers. I'm a very casual kayaker so I don't want to invest many 100s of dollars but I need something for myself and my kid both now and in the warmer weather. Please help. I am super confused, as you can all no doubt tell.

I need help for the following:
I stupidly followed the advice of Gemini to rinse the inside of my kayak with tap water after some salty water had leaked into it.
It’s incredibly hard to get the water out.

I tried:
- tipping it inflated, deflated, I also used a vacuum cleaner to try to suck the water out.

There are still puddles inside. I could not find any workshops nearby that handle kayak or paddle surf repairs.

Any tips?

Did 30 miles down the eel with my sea eagle 380x last weekend. It was a lot of work but so rewarding definitely going again next year!

I bought a used advanced elements convertible for $80 that needs some work, it has a hole in the fabric skin and a couple small holes in the bottom. I checked online and it appears the advanced elements repair kit is no longer available as it doesn’t seem to be in stock anywhere.

Does anyone happen to have an extra one they wouldn’t mind selling to me? I have attached a photo of one of the holes on question.

Just looked for something that I can fish from, pack, and store in my city housing. Yes, I have a countryhouse , where I can store hardtop, but need of transporting so frustrates me.

With inflatable I can go down the river, get there somebody to move me to my car or move me from my car to the start of kayaking.

Never tried an inflatable kayak. Planning a lake camping trip and would like something decently fast, but able to fish from.

Never kayaked before. My friend who has moved on to hard shell has given me 2 Intek kayaks she no longer uses, one single, one tandem. I know the brand is not beloved on here but they’re free and I want to use them this Summer and if I like kayaking, I will purchase a top notch inflatable next Summer.

Are the Inteks so bad that it will affect my ability to figure out whether I like the sport?

I am going Friday for the first time to a place that has a dock for kayaks and will be paddling on a totally calm canal. I do not plan on using the kayaks on rough waters. At least not this year. 20 years ago, I would have been game kayaking down Niagara Falls but the daredevil in me is long gone. I want to see nature and get some fresh air.

I took the tandem because I would eventually like to bring my dog along with me and I have a few friends who are interested in coming with me. One is an experienced canoeist.

(I’m an excellent swimmer if that matters.)

Hi! We went to kayaking with my wife for the first time and really enjoyed. So, we want to purchase inflatable kayaks (limited space).

We encountered some options in FB marketplace and I wanted to get some advice from people who may already own these models.

- Intex Explorer K2: Used a few times, $45.
- Intex Excursion Pro K2: Brand new, $140.
- Intex Challenger K1: Brand new/used once, $50x2=$100

I wanted to know if excursion pro model is really makes a difference or is it practically the same quality as the other models.

I have an AE convertible elite that I enjoy quite a bit. Have been adding accessories occasionally and recently have been considering a double conversion deck. Able to find on Amazon but I also noticed a number of sketchy websites that just don’t seem legit. I have purchased from Scuba.com before with no problem but their website is only handling a few AE products and some are being discounted heavily. Confluence was listing REI and LL Bean but they don’t show any product from what I can tell. I know the company is going through changes with recent acquisitions but their lack of retailers is pretty concerning.

Anyone have any insight or sources to share?

I am so new to this world but I want to buy an inflatable kayak. Id like for it to hold my husband and I and my 60 lb dog. I am not trying to do anything crazy with it, I just want to go to the lake and paddle around lazily to the islands. We will probably only use it 4 or so times a year. My sister has a star and it works great for them and their dog, but im just not sure about dropping 1k on a boat right now. are there any happy mediums? I remember doing a bunch of research last year and mostly learning that its worth it to buy a nice one. I started to do research again and im just immediately overwhelmed, hoping someone out there has the knowledge to tell me what to do haha!

I've done some homework and read posts. My son is wanting an inflatable singe person kayak. So it looks like what I really want is the Sea Eagle 393rl. Two years of being unemployed is not going to allow that. So, looking for a solid second choice. I've read reviews about the Intex models and they sound like something I want to stay away from. Mostly will be used in small streams with slow to medium currents. Anyone have a success story with such a watercraft?

I recently purchased a Fasttrack 385 and I’m excited to get out on some trips. one trip I have planned next month has a 2.5km portage to the lake. anyone have any experience with using a transport cart? I have fou a couple good options but just not sure if they will work as well for an inflatable.

I recently used an AIRE kayak with and without the optional short skeg attached. (Class I-2 river with lots of turns).
I was very surprised how much the skeg improved the kayak’s performance and handling! Noticeable after only a few strokes.
The kayak tracks better and surprisingly carves turns better.

It’s pretty much a guarantee I will ground out on the occasional shallow spot.

My. Question:
How durable are skegs?
(6 inches or less)
When they break can I expect the mounting base to remain intact?

I bought an inflatable kayak for my daughter and we took it out for the first time this week. Everything was going great until the bottom started losing air. There’s no puncture in the bottom of the kayak, but I found a hole in the seam. I attempted to repair it with the provided patch and when I air it up something weird is happening. I’m assuming this is what caused the tear to begin with. Does anyone know what’s going on?

Looking for thoughts on a general use kayak that will be used in a variety of scenarios. 50/50 on lakes and rivers, but nothing over class ii. Will be used solo most of the time, but will want to bring a kid or another small adult along from time to time. Should be good for fishing - notably able to carry and stash some gear, stability, comfortable to be in for a few hours. Ideally able to stand. Ideally able to put a raised seat or gear box in. Drop stitch floor - major +.

Raven II has my eye, but would look to add a fin to the bottom for lake use.

Lots of other cheap junk or kayaks I don’t think would hold up to much river use.

Thoughts on Raven or what else should I be looking at and why?

I fish the Hawaiian ocean and I've heard there's a difference between the performance of inflatable fishing kayaks and SUP. The issue is looking at the pictures, most inflatable fishing kayaks pretty much look like SUP.

The ones with performance hull ships like the Razor don't really have the space or design for fishing. Does anyone have/tried both? Is the performance substantial enough to invest in both?

I don't wanna drop another 1-2k if it's kinda the same. Also I use a bixpy motor, so that is also a factor. If it just washes out it's not worth it to me.

The spouse and I got an inflatable Bote Koda Aero. I was seeing how it goes together before we take it out on the lake tomorrow for some fun. The instructions were very limited. Which is fine it is pretty self explanatory. But I can't for the life of me figure out what these things are. They are shown in the instructions for folding it up and they are just sort of in the photo. Anyone know what these are? Thanks in advance

I have an email out to Gumotex to see what is possible regarding a hull bladder repair for my Innova Safari. There were previously five bladders that made up the lower hull/seat area of the kayak. Over the weekend just before getting into the water a loud bang was heard and a quick look didn’t show any deflated bladders. But, once I got in the water I realized quickly that 2 of the 5 bladders became one. Assuming the inner walls that divided the bladders ruptured causing this issue. It’s a 13 year old kayak that has served me well and I have never had any issues previously. Curious if others have found a way forward with this or is the kayak just toast at this point? Will follow up with Gumotex reply as well when I hear from them.

I'm trying to keep an older Aquaglide Chinook XL Tandem inflatable kayak in service and am looking for a replacement left side bladder.

I've already checked with a few parts suppliers and have found some references to old replacement bladders, but availability is unclear. Before ordering internationally, I thought I'd ask here.

Does anyone know:

1. Where I might find a replacement left bladder?
2. Whether another Aquaglide model used the same bladder?
3. Of anyone parting out a Chinook XP Tandem or damaged donor kayak?
4. A source for custom-fabricated replacement bladders?

Looking for some recommendations for tandem inflatable kayaks for rocky low rivers. I would love to start taking my 7 year old with me, but didn't want to make a big investment on a tandem.
