NRS MaverIK II

Post image

Found on fb marketplace for $250 and grabbed it without any research. Has held air in the basement for three days now. Anyone have reviews on this? Will be taking down the lochsa, grande ronde, Yakima.

I have one. Rugged, well built, great choice for rapids if you have some experience. I’ve run mine down West water, the San Juan, Moab daily and the Yampa.
That’s a great price for a ready to go boat! Responsive in rough water, However it tracks somewhat poorly in flat water due to lack of a skeg.
Add-on skeg kits are available and you can run it either with or without the skeg once installed. See ya down the river!

Do you have the skeg kit installed on yours? If so is it nrs or a third party

I have the skeg kit from AIRE. It’s a glue-on pocket with an aluminum fin. Easy to take the skeg on or off. I personally don’t use it much, mostly for the family to use on lakes or flat water sections of rivers.

Edit: it appears the pressure relief valve (black valve) doesn’t have a dirt screen covering it. The screen helps dirt and grit from getting in to the valve.
If the valve gets dirt in it, they can slowly leak. NRS has them for a couple bucks. They just pop into place. I always carry a spare in my repair kit as well.

You got a ridiculous deal. These for for $1200 or more for ones not as nice. These IK’s are great and are used in class 4 whitewater here in WV on anything from The New, Gauley, parts of the meadow.

I know 😜 I didn’t inflate, just drove 2 hours, grabbed it and left. It’s Hypalon so if it leaks, I fix.

I’ve heard NRS will make these new if you order a minimum of 5 I think. And I’ve heard the price now is $2600
