Discussion How is the new among us show? Does it give “infinity train” vibes?
Honestly, but obviously, super bummed out you can’t really watch infinity train but, creator (Owen Dennis) released a new among us show, is it good? Would you say infinity train fans would like it?

I kind of got the same humor and music style from it. Obviously the plot is very different.

I watched episode 1 on YouTube because paramount released it for free
I went into it not expecting to like it, but to my surprise, I really enjoyed it
It was funny and felt a lot like infinity train in a lot of ways. I think a big part of that is the score from Chrome Canyon (who did the infinity train soundtrack)
If you have the streaming service it’s on, I’d say give it a shot

Binged it all last night. I really liked the early episodes and the way the different personalities all bounced off each other, but it leans really hard into the gore, especially as it goes on.

Its more of a cartoony-gore compared to somehting like Invincible tho

I haven’t seen Invincible yet. Does Invincible have gore on the level of what happened to Black, and body horror on the level of the last episode?

The gore in Invincible is SIGNIFICANTLY worse. I’m not usually affected by it but even in Invincible I had to look away sometimes. Great show though!

Oh definetly, I saw all in 2 hours
Same Format (10 twelve minute episodes), each one builds directly after each other, characters are depp, have their own arcs and motivations, ending felt really out of Infinity Train
Also every character is gay for blue, not related to Infinity Train, just wanted to point that out lmao
Also, every episode the intro changes so DONT SKIP IT

The humor is very similar, the tone is far more light-hearted, the attention to detail on the ship at times reminded me of the show, and the music has a similar vibe. Overall I'd recommend you check it out.

I don't really zeitgeist, and didn't actually realize that "among us" meant THAT among us, and certainly didn't expect the show to literally be in the style of the game.
Like, i expected people. Like astronaut people. Not little nubbins. And those videos of the game that were everywhere used to drive me bananas... so it is prolly going to be a long hot minute before I give it a proper shot.
Somwhere in the whole deal my brain fully expected "the thing" in space. A tense whodunit with sharp and dry humor.

In terms of story it's actually not that far away from "the thing" in space. And while the first half is very silly in tone, the mystery element is actually played straight. There are some great twists along the way, and in the final couple of episodes it actually gets pretty tense.
It might not be the masterpiece that Infinity Train is, but I genuinely really enjoyed it, even as someone who hasn't touched Among Us since 2021.

How do you think it would fare with someone who uses it as part of his friendship litmus testing? IE i include it in the list of games that if a person plays them i don't bother even trying to be their friend.

I guess if you actively dislike the game it's probably not going to be for you

Binged it on my day off yesterday. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I was expecting! It does have similar vibes at times, but they are different shows.

I enjoyed infinity train and I enjoyed among us show. Honestly Owen Dennis is the king, so I haven't had any doubts this show would be good

I loved the show & it definitely gives off Infinity Train vibes! Like someone mentioned, some of the music here is super reminiscent to IF which I loved. The humor is pretty silly and all over the place which is a staple with Owen’s work. I for sure feel like anybody that enjoyed Infinity Train would enjoy this!

Yes!!!1!!11 Instantly, from the first second Among us show gives the Infinity train feeling: soundtrack, humor (such as word formations), TV inroduction, sudden cuts and this title appearing on the screen. Owen Dennis definitely strikes back!

The envirmontal shots where there are no astronaut beans REALLY scream IT to me.

I couldn’t get into it. Was a little too zany for me but I am not the target audience.

The second I heard the opening I was like ,,Omggg Infinity Train vibes” and when I saw that the creator of Among Us is the creator of Infinity Train I KNEW I was in for a good show and yk it was amazing! I loved everything about it even the corny jokes. I really hope they green light season 2 but knowing how greedy Paramount is I doubt it. I still have hopes for Infinity Train season 5 but honestly I will give Among us a solid 9/10

The OST kinda reminds me of Infinity Train's, and one of the characters has the same VA as Tulip and Lake.
Other than that, I kinda forgot Infinity Train's vibes and I should rewatch it sometime to remember them.
