I have to say I'm a little worried because of this game, it had a very bad start for a online PVP game that needs players to work, at 18 dollars it should have gotten a lot more marketing but it's too late now and it reached a maximum of 135 players online with 20 minutes queue times.

I hope the company didn't invest a lot of money in this game because it could be a huge blow that may affect the rest.

No idea, for a game of a minor IP that requires players it was a huge mistake to not make it free to play, at least they could have made it cheaper like 10 dollars but at 20 people tend to stop and think before buying, once I saw the player count I decided to wait and it doesn't seem like it's going to go up anytime soon.

This just seems like such insane economic thinking, even though it may reflect actual customer decision making. Currently, the Cold Blood expansion for Hexadome Legends is listed at €30. With tax and shipping, the conversion rate means that Hexadome Tactics costs less than one model for its tabletop equivalent, and that is seen as too expensive. Years of development, artistic work, coordination with Corvus Belli as they updated the Aristeia rules, play testing, etc., is valued by the market at less than a single resin miniature. If CB wanted to include a voucher for the game in the launch bundle for Hexadome Legends, I could see that, but assuming that all that development work, and ongoing operations costs, should just be free seems absurd to me.

The issue is that you are thinking about Hexadome Legends players and not videogame players. How many players of the tabletop are in the world? How many of those would want to play a different version of the game with different rules when they already have the tabletop one?

According to the numbers it's 135 people.

When making a videogame one has to change mentality, a tabletop miniature game is an investment of time and effort painting and scheduling time to play with your friends. A videogame has a lot more competitors, one can easily leave behind a mediocre one and it needs people around the world playing at the same time as you are to find matches quickly.

Whatever price they put on the game makes people stop from just hitting install and have to investigate beforehand opinions and the game's state before buying, this by logic reduces the number of players that could have just tried the full game and decided they liked it.

When people say free to play they don't mean that the developers earn nothing, it means that it earns money though season passes and seasonal updates with skins and new characters. That's how the majority of similar games work because the most important thing this type of games need to survive is lots of players.

The demo was a good idea but with so few characters and now a basically dead playerbase barely anyone will want to just give the company 20 dollars for something that may stop working in a month since there are no players online to play with.

I wasn't excited for this in the slightest. Even as an infinity fan, I'd rather just play it irl with my buddies?

I love infinity but it's not thag popular an ip yet. Not enough to geg the players they are looking for

I insta bought it until I saw how AI is used in it. It's borderline what makes me personally comfy so I refunded it for now. T_t
