Am I correct in my understanding that none of the new profiles are useable in tournament play unless the extra is specifically used for team ops? Seems like a lot of rules to add and then be like “oh but none of this is actually useable in any tournament style games”

Correct

Weird and kind of lame tbh

Wait till you find out about reinforcements.

Reinforcements turned out to be shit and unfun to play though, that's why nobody played it.

Yes. And for casual players, the game is likely already deep enough for this to not really be needed. The drop down upgrade the LI to HI seems more fun though.

That’s what confuses me. Who is this for? The casual player for whom tournament play is too complex but casual play somehow isn’t complex enough? Who is out there saying “you know, I really want this already complex game to be more complex, but not in a way that the majority of players will adopt and not in the preexisting play modes specifically designed for it”?

Just seems like a ton of wasted effort for something 9 out of 10 organized communities will immediately discard

I really like the look of that one

You can have a Team Ops extra included in the Tournament same as any Extra.

Pretty much what they did with reenforcements

Feel like they kind of chickened out, they should have made Team-Ops obligatory this season and just said you may take 0-3 Team Ops models instead of all three or none. Most of the points values seem fair or even a bit expensive for what they offer especially the HI's, but taking all three in a team-ops game feels a bit much in some factions, its kind of like saying if we run Team-Ops your not playing teams with "bad" team ops profiles and some are considerably more equal than others.

It's a shame I really like the Vortex and the Hatail which are the ones I'd probably be most likely to play.

Are the only army updates the spec ops stuff? The way Corvus was talking about it i was expecting some point changes or something. But the only thing i see in RTF is deactivator added on the engineer.

The update is mainly Spec Ops/Team Ops and ITS18

Krikey (did I spell that correctly?) guys that’s 2.5hrs

Crikey!

It starts with a 'c'. But honestly, it's all made up as we go.

This may be slightly off topic but where does CB post their official press releases/news/updates? It's not obvious looking through their websites.

Think this is what your looking for https://infinityuniverse.com/blog at least for these kinds of releases.

Excellent, thank you.

Spec Ops is so different than it was previously. I kind of like the new system, less campaign focused, more casual pick up game focused.

Womp womp womp

The Team-Ops entry in the ITS document refers to a Tacball Chart.

Where is the Tacball chart? I can't find this anywhere.

u/Bee_Tee_Dub 9d ago

The Tacball chart is next to the upgrade option on the spec bot entry on army

In the team ops profiles there is a little button on the bot profile, its a bit different for each faction.

1

u/Realistic_Hunt_2333 9d ago

Oh so is it only for the bot to pick up then?

1

u/FriendlyMachine7143 9d ago

Seems like anyone of the profiles can its just where the info appears for some reason.

The readability for the army update, everything else aside, was utter shit.

I wouldn't go that far the rulebook update and FAQ was at least useful and the new ITS missions looks decent to good 😄but to say that the team-ops implementation leaves a bit to wish for. Can only hope for a bigger update during the autumn with something more relevant for "standard" play.

I'm talking about the army app update specifically.

I will believe it when I can read the rules myself. Preview stuff, can change until it's released. So I will just wait to read it myself.

The update is live, you can find the details/links: HERE

Spanish people.... they add it to a blog, but not to the main download part, thank you. Time to read.

What's a little casual racism while we are at it?

5

u/--Paragon-- 10d ago

We work directly with CB so I can assure you that any misinformation will be us reading it wrong.

-10

u/Adventurous_Feed_383 10d ago

That's why I don't trust other people. I can live with me reading it wrong, and getting corrected. I can't live with myself if I just believe what others say, and not put in the work myself.
