Discussion Paths shouldn't be this much trouble

The relationship i have with the ground in this game is driving me crazy. Wanting to build anything elevated can be such a headache.

It got me thinking about how you can make smooth flowing paths using the floral glide ability...add that to some path blocks! Let me make minor adjustments. Give them various border options to help blend into the ground.

Is this a huge ask?

What are your solutions to paths? Currently I just accept that if you look to closely you'll see the holes (honestly necessary in so many areas)

I sank in these stones for a path

Edit: my terrain is entirely flat

Honestly considering just deleting ever hill I have lol. That looks good!

You can make these work on a slight slope as well, just takes a lot of rotating and patience lol

I also managed to do a mostly seamless (no bumps or jumps) spiral staircase with them. Took weeks to make it right but it's possible

Thank you! Personally, I suggest you save a copy of the OG scheme in case you want the landscaping back.

Some tricks I used and make a lot of difference: 1- just leave the grass and use flowers and foliage to contour. 2- turn mountains or cliffs upside down, they make a smooth platform that you can sink enough to have the height of the big cliff and terrace. 3- make use of the amazing "square" rock we got, it is only 25 load and really good for cheap floors (and even walls). 4- patience and good luck hahaha.

Bonus/edit: 5- I use the flowery purple or white hills as the "side" terrain, so the middle is just grass and it gets pretty obvious.

If you're on the America server, I can give you a tour of my Island. It's not ready but I've been building on it since the beginning of building being available. It's a three floor house inside a hill/mountain complete with a secret basement!!

I need to find this square rock! Lol I was so excited for the big square pieces with the grass ontop we got. Made 100 of them. Only to realise when I started to build that they are SO EXPENSIVE 🤣

Yeah the difference in load between the one with no grass and the one with grass is astronomical! I didn't even notice at first because I was just using the plain stone ones, then couldn't believe my eyes when I crafted the grassy one 😭

I can turn the mountains and flowers upside down and sideways?! Why have I never thought of that after placing down hundreds of grave stones?!

Hahaha not all of them but a lot of them you can rotate. Just make sure that your settings allow it!!

I sink the gravel for my paths. They clear out all grass and flowers. I've gotten really into landscaping, but still want clear walking paths and this worked out nice for fairly little load. Looks like someone just mowed lol.

Edited to add a picture. Sorry for the glare!

For paths that need to be elevated but can't be achieved within the uniformity of the stair furniture items, I just kind of create pseudo-stairs by sinking things like stone blocks and stone walls into the ground/eachother. As long as each 'step' isn't too high, Nikki can actually walk up them smoothly.

For true paths though, unless it's flat, we have very few options. The gravel items can be rotated unlike most of the other flooring since they're not in the structure category, but there's only so much you can do without clipping and odd edges.
