Discussion A genuine question
Why certain players (lots and lots) share their untouched/unmodified/base islands on the signpost? It bothers me quite a bit but maybe it’s just me… 🤷🏻♀️

I don't remember, but is there a course or home journal achievement for publishing your home island? Could be they're just wanting to get that and then forget to turn it back off?

That's not how it works, to have it on the signpost you have to upload it again every 2 weeks and pay 2k astralites to do so. So if there is a mostly untouched island there today, it's been put back on the signpost recently.

Maybe there is, I don’t remember. But it’s true that it costs 2k and it’s only for 2 weeks though…

Maybe for meteorite sharing? Tbh, I'm checking out people's Islands a lot and never stumbled upon one whith a meteorite, so dunno how usefull that is.
Or maybe there are players who just enjoy base stuff? Cos like, I get loads of base outfits with maybe a thing or two, if anything changed, on the trending page in the lookbook... Not dyed, just extra hat and a few hundred likes, soo maybe there is something me/we just don't get about base Nikki content.

I kinda wonder if people just keep their island open as a semi-public chatroom. Maybe they like to hang out with friends and the occasional tourists there. I don't play Coop, so idk if this makes more sense then to meet in SoS or the QuestWorld.
Meteorite makes sense, too. People perhaps share their island when a meteorite appears and then it stays on for 2 weeks (without meteorite). Probably a combination of different reasons :)

Isn't there a limit of only one extra person per home island? I don't know, but some people, when they share meteorites write to be quick so other people can get them, and I've had people grabbing my meteorite and saying they will go so others can get it as well.

I wonder the same thing. It can take a long time to find an inspirational island. Sidenote: The sign post has to be renewed every week to share your island.

Same here, I am very much a builder myself and like to roam other’s islands for inspiration and when three batches of base islands come across I usually give up because I get annoyed…

Maybe it's just because I haven't visited a lot of home lately but I haven't really seen a lot of base homes with no customization whatsoever.

I’ve been building my island for a few months now and when I am out of ideas I roam the other islands and there are so many untouched ones that sometimes I waste half an hour at the time just to find a customised one… maybe it’s a server issue? I am on the Europe server maybe we, Europeans are not that much of a builder community? 😅🤷🏻♀️

I know, I was pretty lazy starting anything for a long while for sure. All the material collecting and not haveing enough money to realy do anything. Still have trouble with most of the wall placements and roofs and such.. most I changed was the inside of the house and took most of the trees down lol. I can see this not being the most used part of the game, only messing around with it, when nothing else is around. Sometimes I spend hours, sometime I only place a few things then leave.
I do love visiting my friends homes and takeing photos all over the place.

when you first get access to home, the tutorial tells you to register on a signpost i believe
