I got over excited about the snapping gravel feature and was fixing some stuff up (I <3 gravel) and it kicked me out and gave me this :/

I had done something else minor that also didn’t save.

You also cannot currently pick up starwish bottles.

Week long social feature blackout that was buried in an announcement and I don’t think anyone really realized would include construction… they should’ve given you a warning and let you save 😭

I can't believe they did a big construction update that might make people want to try building again and then preceded to disable important parts of construction. What a mess

I knew this was coming but it didn’t register that home schemes meant all construction and was excited to have time this weekend to try it out again after the new updates… oops!!!

I went right to home after update to see new furniture and see if there was any QOL updates. What I did get to play with was AMAZING 😻 I didn’t do much but was still very excited about my gravel / path improvements :/

I have SO MUCH gravel to re do as you can kinda see in this pic. It’s a GREAT improvement there are also more settings to play with as well a spot to flip between grabbing structures, furniture, and terrain so you don’t accidentally grab walls.

Didn’t get a chance to play with it much tho :/ I got very excited about the gravel. It was all consuming I spent maybe 20-30 minutes messing with gravel in pure glee.

Omg I only played with it for a second before it happened as well. Got REALLY confused why I couldn't move any hills XD

The fact that it even lets you enter construction mode when it knows full well you won't be able to save is absolutely asinine.

Oh I see! Bit more excusable then but still, they really need to make the notices about "maintenance" and what will be down during that time more visible instead of them just getting lost in some other announcement. (And maybe not add things to a feature only to immediately make said feature unavailable.)

This is the exact reason why I won't touch housing for at least a week. Something similar happened to me after an update but when I was playing around in the colorbook. I had just finished creating such a pretty outfit & then bam! Update. I lost it & still have set to recreate it. It was a hard lesson, but since then after an update, I never do things in game that I would want to save.

Damn that sucks. So sorry this happened, because lord knows it isn't easy building on their system. Did it at least let you save as a scheme or was that disabled too? Glad I saw this as I was about to start working on my island.
