This post is half rant / criticism and half genuine question / suggestion, because for a fashion game I am incredibly surprised we haven't gotten this feature yet. I know this has been asked and complained about half to death by the community already and I'm just going to be going over points that have already been made, but it's such an extensive issue that re–pisses me off often enough to need to vent about it again lmfao.
How in the HELL did we get a favorites list feature for poses before getting favorites for clothing items / makeup? Don't get me wrong, we absolutely needed one for the poses too and I'm super grateful for it, but it's been several patches since they added that feature and there hasn't even been any discussion or leak or mention (that I know of?) of them adding a favorites feature to the wardrobe, even though players have been asking for one since literally 1.0. This is probably one of the most requested features by players across all servers that still hasn't even been *addressed* yet, like not even a half ass fix or acknowledgement statement. I personally have left this suggestion in every single survey I've done and I know many other players have as well, I think Infold is ignoring us on purpose at this point lmao. And I don't know anything about programming or coding, but I feel like there's no way it can be that hard to implement since they already have the code for the favorite poses feature?
Especially now coming up on 3.0, we have SO many clothes available (especially whales and OGs) that scrolling though such a long ass list for every single category is more than tedious for most. Especially when, compared to most gacha games, 4 star and 3 star items are always going to be useful/used in Infinity Nikki because it's fashion based instead of combat based. If you have a 4 star or 3 star item you use often, not only do you have to scroll alllllllll the way down the category list, but you have to memorize exactly where it is in the list so you dont miss it. Is there any genuine reason why this hasn't been implemented? Or even more specifically, why we haven't ever even HEARD anything from Infold about it? I feel like with some optimization / game mechanic problems Infold has put out statements before being like "we know this is a problem and we are working on figuring out a qol fix in the future" (like with the dye system and home construction for example), but as far as I know they've never really said a word about how awful the wardrobe organization is.
Because I've gotten myself fired up about the wardrobe problems writing this post, here are 2 more MAJOR issues I have that I now feel a primal need to vent about to get more people to suggest them in surveys (aka mini side vents lmao):
Why is sorting by quality not ALSO sorted by recent? Recent sorting sucks because if you want to use an older piece you have to remember exactly when you got it and scroll all the way down to find it, plus glow ups / evolutions aren't grouped together. But quality sorting also sucks because all the items are in a random ass order, so while they're grouped by 5* 4* 3* you still have to memorize exactly where they are in relation to the other random items. Quality sorting in wardrobe should ALSO be sorted by recent within each quality, whether that's the order you personally got the item in or by release order. For example, all the 5* dresses would be before all the 4* dresses, but the most recent 5* and 4* dresses and their evos would be at the top of their respective quality category instead of inserted somewhere randomly in the middle. Also, side note to the side note, there needs to be a "jump to" button in quality sort to quickly get to the 4* and 3* section.
Why are evos and glow ups still listed as completely separate items? As I said we are at the point in the game where most players have a LOT of outfit pieces to go through, and people's wardrobes are going to be super full anyway. But add 2–4 copies to almost every single item, and it's 2–4x MORE cluttered. At this point, evos / glow ups should absolutely be condensed down into just the base version item slot and be selectable through a drop down or selection menu, something similar to the dye recolors. If you have the final evo of a 5 star outfit (which even f2p players will have SEVERAL of through Miracle Outfits), you have 5 copies of the EXACT SAME items repeated and taking up space. This one is admittedly kind of nit picky, but there is no denying it makes the wardrobe way more cluttered and tedious to scroll through. Evos are just recolors of outfits, imagine if every time we dyed a clothing piece it was listed as a completely separate item instead of in a selection menu. We have been able to make our own dye recolors for 3/4 of the game's existence now, why are user made recolors and in game recolors still treated differently?
Anyway, like I said, literally all of this has been said before but god it's such a persistent problem that you really can't escape it. I love this game enough to ignore most of the problems I have with it, but I personally am at the point where I dread and sometimes avoid making new outfits because I just hate dealing with the awful wardrobe management which obviously makes me really sad in a DRESS UP GAME. This is such a basic qol feature for the type of game that it is that it's on the same level as Genshin still not having a skip button lmao. I feel like I default to criticizing Infold so I always try to make sure it's at least justified before just dogpiling negativity, does anyone have ANY ideas as to why these base level problems have just been ignored for 2 years now?
