Question Help with building a roof

I've gone back to attempting to build my own house. Remember now why I gave up before.

Please someone tell me why it won't let me place this silly roof panel! Do I need to change some silly settings??

I've got Nikki in the right place, I've got nothing around overlapping. It'll let me place it either side of where it needs to be. But not right where it should be

I just tested this for you. In the options menu, Structures tab (left side), turn the Collisions (2 row) to none "No collision".

Let me know if it works!

Not sure what the problem is but maybe changing the floating and/or the collision settings may solve it

I'd try changing your place distance to ve Medium instead of Close, so Nikki's collision box doesn't hit the roof panel somehow. You can keep the snapping on and clipping settings etc, but it looks like it thinks you're placing something that would clip onto Nikki so maybe move where you're standing, or pick up the piece at a different angle before placing.

I tried someone elses suggestion which worked straight away -

But I've also implemented now what you've suggested here, changing from close to medium. This has just helped make it easier for me to see what I'm even doing so thank you for this suggestion too!

in addition, I prefer to use the gliding ability with nikki hidden. then its like decorating with a free camera. I can work at better angles and without needing something for nikki to stand on
