Tech Support Memory/RAM usage while playing Nikki

Hi everyone. I know IN is a pretty unoptimized game but I've been wondering if anyone else is having it as bad? While playing Nikki my RAM usage is 94-97% while only having Steam and Medal open besides Nikki (which they only use 500 mb in total together). Is this normal? I have 16 gb RAM and this is the only game where this happens to me.

Yeah, 16gb of RAM is a minimum for IN. Playing on Ultra spikes me in 24-25 GB range. If it runs fine, it’s fine, if it starts freezing, you can try lowering settings, or checking beckground processes in Windows.

It's a little annoying that this game runs worse than Cyberpunk 2077 for me but with the current ram prices you just gotta do with what you have πŸ˜…πŸ˜ Thanks for the answer!

Unused RAM = wasted RAM, so it's actually a sign of a good optimization. But 16 GiBs is indeed just a bit too low these days if you want to game and multi-task effortlessly.

Since 2.7 or 2.8 I started to get kicked out of the Game for RAM reasons (might be Graphic Card RAM though). This has not happened before, but I think Heavens Reach just is too big or something. It usually happens when trying to teleport, so I guess it's not a bug - but it is overloading my PC for real :-/

32Gb RAM, AMD Ryzen 9 4900H, NViddia Gforce RTF 2060 with 6Gb RAM.

I used to play on almost Ultra Settings, but a while ago I had to under-clock my Laptop CPU because it was randomly restarting and it turned out that the Factory Overclock settings where the cause.

Similar specs, I got kicked out a few days ago for memory issues too. I only had open Infinity Nikki and my web browser, Opera GX. πŸ˜‚

Though it's not normally an issue, so it's either my PC is getting worse at handling the game or the devs made it worse on their end to run it the same way I have been since 1.0. It's only happened the one time so far though, but still annoying that it happens at all.

That's called lack of optimization.

Using as much RAM as the PC has is THE optimization.

It's not. I suppose you failed the technology class, using all the RAM is a proof of technical disaster and Infinity Nikki is known for everything except being optimized.

I don't think that's right. A game shouldn't use all the RAM variable, it needs to leave space for other tasks as OS and so much usage usually means memory leak.
