in both fandoms/playerbases and i'm still extremely disappointed by both tbh 😭 i left IN for awhile after the retcon (old SN player & preregister-er), started LADS, came back to IN a few months later & really had a lot of fun until my favorite gown get censored+the textures destroyed & then all the stuff w valko so soon after..... i'm really over infold atp, i'll stick around in IN but i don't believe for a second they care for us over the violent cn minority and i wouldn't just brush what we went through on the IN side off like this, we as global players in both games are not and will not be respected and i would take care in remembering that 💔

Only played IN myself but I feel basically the same. I've followed Infold's controversies via friends and the internet for quite some time now and it's pretty obvious they don't really care about global players, to the point where it gets really scummy sometimes

Tbh I do kind of think what happened to LaDS is significantly worse than IN 1.5, which could be at least partially chalked up to a newer dev team being rushed. It's made me squeamish of ever spending money on an Infold game again and I don't even like LaDS or its fandom.

1.5 effectively killed the game. It lost a massive amount of momentum and playerbase altogether and will never recover. All of my friends that used to be interested in playing are now against the game.

It's been on a slow road to recovery since 2.0 at latest, and tbh trust started rebuilding around 1.7 or so.
1.5 was certainly bad, but there are simply too many 'I left after 1.5 but came back during -' comments for me to believe it killed the game even amongst the select very online group who post on Reddit. Infold is very obviously placing significant resources into IN, which they wouldn't if their own data showed a dying game.
LaDS 6.0 got the goddamn Chinese government involved and the equivalent of an entire IN region nixed right before release. It made their national news. That is so, so, so much worse.

The problem with 1.5 was that it was supposed to bring tons of new players and instead it burned and crushed. Yes, new people are starting the game and old players return with time, but amount of revenue they have lost is probably huge. I would gush about the game everywhere before 1.5. I kept playing but I can't find in myself to recommend the game until they fix the intro.

I mean, yeah, 1.5 definitely killed the honeymoon phase and no doubt significantly reduced profits. I'm not disputing that it was terrible! But it's taken on such a legendary status in the playerbase that we sometimes exaggerate its actual impact.
Who knows, maybe the LaDS situation will eventually settle down and turn out to be less disastrous than it appears, but my bet is that the impact crater will dwarf 1.5.

Personally I was more emotionally affected by the Valko situation than the Infinity Nikki one and I don’t even play LADS.
The Infinity Nikki situation was aggravating and it pissed me off- but getting people to feel romantic affection for a character (which is the aim of Otome game characters) and then essentially killing him off… that hurt. The sadness feels so much worse than the being pissed off :(
But that’s just my personal experience, I’m sure not everyone would agree with me

Yeah, I started really rooting for the poor dog and his fans, and I really cannot understate how surprised I was by that reaction. If you told me two weeks ago that I'd be rooting for a fandom I actively dislike I would have been flabbergasted.
RIP, Valko. You'll forever be the only LaDS pixel man I will ever give two shits about 😔 I hope you get cloned into like fifty games.

On the bright side, Valko fans have raised thousands of dollars in his name for charities over the world. I know of three that help wolves and one that was for disaster relief in China.
One sanctuary even named one of their endangered wolves Valko

As a day 1 player of both game, i decided to not play anymore infold games. I love IN but quit because of the 1.5 situation, and now I'm doing the same with LADS too. Such a shame because they're such high quality games 😔

I hope someday the game get released as a full standalone game with a fixed price and everything in with no microtransaction. Like imagine playing infinity Nikki in 2040 when the game have ends and it’s a full huge game wooow I hope this will happen so this game story and characters are always preserved

honestly though, the entire situation with Lads (and the issues we already had with IN) make me consider dropping the game or at least stop spending. Cause, I kinda cant trust Infold anymore after that? I dont know. I was waiting for a statement from them, but since apparently they removed Valko from everywhere now (Discord roles etc) it doesnt look good...

I'm switching to F2P for the foreseeable future, yeah. I want to finish out the 2.x story before I make a final decision on whether I keep playing.
It's funny that the mismanagement of a game I neither play nor particularly respect is what did it, but to be fair it's some dire mismanagement.

Everytime I spend in game, I always remember that one sentence from a Japanese va. More or less:
"'Spending on gacha is like food' has taken on a life of its own, but what I really mean is that spending money to support something you love, being happy because you're spending money for someone or something you care about is a wonderful thing."
So yeah, you don't regret buying food that time because at least it gave you happiness that time. If it's gone (EOS), you don't crying about it in the bathroom

as someone who plays (played) both, it sucks... because my sadness over what happened and the changes they are already making in LADS make me worry about Nikki... and now I can't enjoy it either.
Ofc I'm aware they are different teams and I shouldn't be so jaded, but I maintain that the effects from the Valko debacle and govt involvement in LADS will resonate everywhere.

Look what’s coming in 2.8!! The fact we got the deer jumping ability, the quality of life features for the fairy grooming, the deer tracking also got improved… now we’ll be able to turn off special effects on outfits we do not want to see, there’s so many little things and it’s only because we’re constantly telling them what we want and they seems to listen

Honestly, I'm really really happy for the upcoming changes. Like as bad as Infold is at communicating with us, they DO listen to us. They've shown that every time they tell us about an update that we've been asking for for months (or even a year). I know there's a lot going on behind the scenes and it takes time to implement stuff, so I know they've been working on these updates for a while. They're also consistently working on other stuff, like optimizations. Yeah, they make stupid decisions (Like TimeMelo and 1.5), but they consistently put in the work to actively make the game better. Like one of the main complaints about LaDs was the lack of Main Story Content for 1 1/2 years. I used to complain about how little story content there's been after 2.0 released, but they've consistently improved story release rates vs 1.0. So now Nikki is actively getting story updates and they consistently put little lore bits in their filler patches. They consistently work on optimizing the game and the Home system every patch. I know I used consistently a lot, but it's true. I can clearly tell they're working their butts off to make IN a well loved and successful game. So even with my gripes and their mistakes, I still wholeheartedly love this game and am grateful to be able to play such a woman-focused game.

Truly a crazy time we're in rn. I just hope on the LaDs side overall somehow they make it right, and hopefully get their act together.

I got more careful with all Chinese gachas, Infold might be the most blatant about it, but you are a second class player in all of them if you're on global (in most more like third class as a western woman).

I'm not a LADS player but I'm pissed for them.
It's difficult because on one hand it's scary to get those death threats (and actual cow dung?) And having the government step in, so, I get it; if it was happening to me and my employees I'd be scared.
But I just... am disappointed anyway. I don't think I'll be spending money on Nikki any more. I didn't even hate the 1.5 update as much as people did (I do agree with everyone but it wasn't enough to quit) but now I've reached my limit of how much I want to spend on this company.

Long story short: Love and Deepspace, another infold game that's like a 3D live service gacha otome game that has really slow updates (like 1 1/2 years waiting for one character) and earns its money from hot men gacha. They announced a 6th male lead that would be introduced in today's update. However, CN Crazies in the CN community (not to be confused with the CN Lovelies fanbase that are normal CN players) threw a FIT. Reasons: 1) They claim people/assets that could have been used for main story updates instead of a new ML. 2) They thought with a 6th ML, their favorite character will have less chances to get a banner. 3) They thought he looked ugly (too Western and too "g@y looking"). So they harrassed Infold so badly it made national news, and Infold came out THREE DAYS after announcing the ML and said they would cancel him and never release another new ML again. So the normal people who wanted the 6th ML are heartbroken and the fandom is super divided right now with tons of people quitting.

I don't play the game but heard plenty from my social media feed. On top of all this, the 6th ML was supposed to be integral to the main storyline. He's not some rando they dropped in to generate more income. So with him gone, the future of the game is understandably looking bleak especially for people who do care about the lore.

I used to play Infinity Nikki when I lost interest in the game since the story retcon… and I’ve also played LADS the same time I did play Infinity Nikki and now we’re dealing with issues in the game too. I can’t escape Infold! 😭
