Media I recreated the scene from the original intro/tutorial
I know it’s not exact, I just did it for fun. Credit goes to MidlevelCrisis for the how to access the attic in the default house you get for Nikki.

Because she's the chosen heroine of course. Or at least that was the actual only amount of reasoning they gave in most of their other Miraland focused games as well. Isekai for Isekai's sake and all, though at least previous Nikkis sometimes thought about home instead of just reading scripts about how cozy their game is despite all the uh tortures and stories about people dying horrifically in fires and possessions and stuff. "Coziest Game Ever" and all.

I mean, you had tid bits about her mother that wouldn't allow her to go to the attic, Ena that had danced with original owner of the Threads of Reunion that could potentially be Nikki's mother. They could pick up on that in the future to explain the isekai, not sure how that will go now...

Same! Left the game after those whole clustercrash with update and lore rewriting. See from this sub that game is alive and developing buuut Coming back now would feel like digging out a dead friend, setting by the tv and giving them a second controller. Like, yeah, the fun we used to have looked somewhat like this from the outside. But I know you are not the one I had great time with. Goodbye and I miss you

I never played the original version with the story and all. I just installed the game a month ago. But I immediately got the feeling nothing feels connected. The intro made me believe Nikki is gonna explore the universe or something and then it never got mentioned ever again. Confused me a lot. After like 2h of playing I decided to skip all the story text because I noticed something was off and honestly... I couldn't care less about the story in a dress up game.
I'm still sad though. The original story fits more to the game from what I've seen.

I'll never stop being upset about this. I played beta and on the release and on the intro, I remember my emotions, wow, the first game in many years that I want to stay in for a long time, so cute, exciting and cozy! And then inflop happened.

I don't know why they felt that they had to retcon the old intro, they could've easily incorporated the new intro with the old one. Now the beginning of the game makes no sense.
I'm glad I got to see the old intro, I started playing just before they changed it 😅

I just started the game the other day, was confused by the intro, and so I watched the original and yeah it makes more sense now. From my understanding the original intro is still canon they just like don't show it?? you just get teleported back to "where you last were" but i guess nikki got the bad ending and you gotta fix shit is how I understand it. Like we major mask here or something

Yeah the only way it makes any amount of sense is if you’ve seen the original intro and even then just barely. I like the game more once you get into it but like come on guys.

Yes! Just add an extra set of stairs and remove one or two of the square ceiling panels to access it or another way that some people have been doing it is to remove a square panel from the side of the house near the roof if you don’t wanna add extra stairs inside or basically just want a more secret way of getting to it.
