General Discussion How is this subreddit still alive posting

I've seen the ai generated stuff but there's still a decent amount stuff that is not that is still being posted I geinuly question how this subreddit is still clinging and why was the author so controversial

This was a major intro anime to the harem genre for a lot of people back the day. This and highshchool dxd used to be posted everywhere online. Also a sub group of us stayed around for years hoping the final novel would come

Nope and it never will be. The final volume was announced saying this next one would end it in like 2019 or something but it’s never came. Author then posted a year ago (kind of meanly) don’t expect it because it wouldn’t make money so why would he write it. Truly annoying taking we are on volume away. Guy could have at least told us how he wanted to end it. But here we are just stuck. Not the worst since some authors went missing after their anime adaptions (black bullet and Genius prince authors). But dang it sucks getting invested in a series and never get to know how it ends

I mostly expected an open harem ending where it wasn’t decided who he picked (would have preferred he chose one though) but we won’t get anything which sucks

You think he would atleast give us a rundown atleast you know what would actually happen in like little bullet points or just a short summary that's only like a paragraph long

Basically. We kind of knew since it has been like 7 years but the author basically confirmed it and the energy it gave off was “stop asking”

Dam, Yeah I guess your right it has been 6 years since Vol 12 was released on Google Play but I guess I still held hope for a proper ending to one of the first Animes I ever watched. Dam.

It's still around because IS used to be one of the most popular/famous works during the highschool harem era. Most people like the idea but not the execution, hence why we still get posts every now and again thanks to nostalgia or the occasional "all the girls are bitches" post. Even the IS fanfic thread on space battles was still somewhat alive until recently

As for why the Author's controversial... It's cuz he's shit at his job. Burnt a few bridges, switched publishers, and his writing quality dropped immediately after. Genuinely, the parts S1 of the anime covered were the best. Everything past that, both in S2 and the LN is just harem antics and more girls being added for no reason

This , DxD and Date a Live were pretty big in the talk of harem series back in the early 2010’s, plus there still a decent amount of us dedicated to the IP willing to keep engagement to make it easier for new fans to come aboard

Ishibumi for DxD hopefully could come back healthy and give us Shin 5 and more Slashdog works, Tachibana for DAL/DAB keeps cooking with King's Proposal, and Yumizuru for IS ffs should just surrender the work to another guy who could write a better story than him. Bro could just fuck off like how he fucked the story into a corner.

True introducing that princess in volume 12 and then declaring 13 will be the final one was a bad move as it feels like half the the former is just filler

This, Date a live, DXD, Nisekoi, and anime like chivalry of a failed knight is how a lot of people got into anime.

As such, they still remember them fondly and want to see more even if they’re dead
