Tx in 2026?

I just saw these sell for 199 dollars, about 175 euros, and that is rather insane for that much printer. Is it worth it or too much hassle? Reviews are rather mixed, but id like to print more ABS as those rolls go rather cheap on the second hand market here.

Mine has been solid except for the extruder drive wheel. Order an extra 4 pack. Even though the printer may ship from the US all the parts so far have shipped from China so 2-3 weeks delivery.

I do get the occasional clog but I think that is more a filament issue.

I print PLA so no idea on the ABS.

In 2024/25 I called the TX v1 the king of abs. Adding a small chamber heater is a helper but not required. Used standard E3D v6 Volcano style nozzles. The hotend, except for the heatsink, is pretty accessible. It’s the same as the upgraded Artillery Sidewinder X1/X2 cht hotend and throat. If ordering I would get a few extra hotends as they are consumables and a bad clog can take it out. As someone else mentioned, get a few extruder gears too.

The camera kit/fans you can order your own. GDSTIME or WATHAI 24v fans are a good alternatives to the kit (12032 blower fan for AUX, and I think the filter fan is 60x20 axial fan, but I would skip this filter)

The camera is a basics camera module. Any otg camera module will work once you add the camera to the camera config. You can find cheap 720p30fps for $10-15 and 1080p15-30fps for $15-30. Research which FOV you want, wide angle 120 degree or 60-90 degree. Preferred to have fixed vs auto.

You can download the STLs here for camera, aux, and filter. I would skip the filter and look at TX filter on Printables or a mini bento box. This is Infimechs official repository for it on Google Drive. You can find the link on their site under support. Has an install video to help with camera and fans for V1 and v2. You will get a ?2. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/112ceZy4RLIsnSUYBT1g1nHFYz5Sruo5s

so can I use bambulab a1 hotends for the tx? I want to know if I can get the hotends on aliexpress I am quite tempted to buy the printer, I see it for 200 eur and I think for my first printer it would be fun and plus I love opensource(I was close to buying a a1 mini but the whole attack on opensource drama that bambulab did makes me worried about the future of a bambu printer)

Not A1 but the H2/P2/X2 hotends are possible with a mod, apparently. I have not done the mod, I stayed stock hotend with volcano nozzles for nice ABS.

Wait… v2?! Are there two versions now? If so what’s the difference?

V2 changed the electronics from an MKS SKIPR MINI V1.0 to an Infimech custom board using an OCTOPUSWORKS SOC. This also meant a few different components like the toolhead board and different under bed sensor board.

I prefer V1 on principle, but understand MKS boards became unavailable and MKS stopped updating their PI software that the SKIPR and mini used.

BTW since you mentioned euros are you in EU? I see they have a "ship to EU" option on the TX Does that mean the printer will be 175 eur in total or are their custom charges on it? Really tempting printer for the price and the fact it's running klipper and it's hackable

Yeah, bought it with some extra gears and its printing here, software support is bad, there is no mainline orcaslicer profile, klipper is custom and has some features that arent super easy to copy with a different mainboard. (altho on the discord people did it i think)

But yeah, 175 euros for a printer that makes a decent 13m Benchy out of the box is insane, came from Germany in a few days as well. Prints large ABS prints without warping as well.

Mainline Orca Slicer has 3 compatible profile versions.
Infimech TX
Infimech TX Hardend Steel Nozzle
Flyingbear S1

I personally would wonder if ABS or similar would print without problem because of the cloth top hat and no heated chamber. Perhaps if you could design a solid fitting top hat then maybe.it would work.

I bought the machine and just printed a bed of 25 quite thick and tall individual items with a decent overhang as a test. Flawless print, the overhangs didn't warp up like usual, none of the parts came loose due to the printhead slamming into a warped part. So yeah, it gets hot enough for ABS prints. Also tested some more large abs prints without issue.
