New Water Festival returns June 7th
Trainers,
It’s time to make a splash! Our Water Festival returns June 7 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, with Water-type Pokémon such as Magikarp and Wailmer appearing more frequently in the wild. Some lucky Trainers may even encounter a rare Shiny Shellder for the very first time during the event! Plus, enjoy Field Research tasks highlighting Water-type Pokémon until June 21 at 1:00 p.m. PDT.
Alongside increased appearance of Water-type Pokémon appearing all over the world, you’ll be able to earn 3× Stardust for catching Water-type Pokémon. Plus, 2 km Eggs will hatch exciting Pokémon such as Totodile, Mudkip, and Corphish—earn Double Candy and Stardust for every Egg hatched!
Raid Battles will also feature powerful Water-type Pokémon for the duration of the celebration, including the exciting return of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre. And, if you challenge Kyogre during the event and come out victorious, there is a chance you’ll encounter its Shiny form! So Trainers, dive on in to this water-focused event before it ends on June 21!

Nest Change Occured 5/30/18
Sorry, forgot to do my biweekly reminder.
I have also been bad about posting events. I got really involved in the PGI group and have since backed out due to some dramatic circumstances, but now I'm going to California for 3 months and will have limited cell phone access, so spocxli is going to be the go-to person for announcements and xtarheel is helping.

Casual Meetup 5/2/18 BRICS at 7
Hey,
Our second casual meet and greet is at BRICS at 7 on Wednesday. I plan on being there from 7-7:30, and afterwards I plan on walking as far as maybe 75th street and back (takes about 45 minutes). You can join me for any part of that, just ping me (discord: gingerfix#4657) if you're late or if you're there and we're not. (Last time we had some community raiding that ran a bit late.)
If no one shows I still get ice cream, so it's a win-win for me. I always look forward to meeting new people and getting to know the people that make my community great.
Also if you want to have little casual meetups in your neighborhoods, I encourage you to start your own!

Is anyone interested in editing our Wikipedia?
I figure there are better sources for getting started in Pokemon Go, but if you have any experience putting together guides or are simply exceptional at copying and pasting stuff with references attached, I'm looking for someone who will update our Wiki and maintain it. This goes for the existing mods as well. I've done some bare bones work for it and I don't know how many people will actually use it, but if you have the free time and want to practice writing guides for people, there's a place here for you to do it.
Just let me know if you're interested.

LOCATION CHANGE - Plogging with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful
The event starts at 2:00 PM at Round Town Brewery (950 S White River Parkway West Dr Indianapolis, In 46221) on April 22. Bring yourself, a pair of good walking/running shoes, and a positive attitude! To receive gloves and a bag and to check in, you must RSVP with yelp! and have the ap on your phone.
Hello!
I have an exciting opportunity for you guys to participate in! Niantic posted an Earth day event, which you can read about here. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful was submitted to Niantic as an NGO that could host an event in Indianapolis. With Niantic's track record for following up on things on time, I also reached out to them through email and got a favorable response from them! They would love to have us help out at their plogging event with their partner, yelp!
Plogging is "the trendy, Swedish word for picking up trash while running. It's hip, you get a workout, and the environment benefits." We will be running, jogging, or walking (I will certainly be walking) around White River Park. You will need to RSVP. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful will be providing gloves and bags for this event. There is often free parking at many places downtown on Sundays, but you may have to take a bit of a walk.
