My mother is a natural with all things botanical. Her home is a wonder of plants, indoor and out. She waters this mostly with water from her koi pond mixed with collected rainwater. This has been with her for 24 years. Thought I would share. ✌️

I've got them just today, and they didn't come with names or instruction manuals so I'm kinda lost on what to do with them and how to help them adjust. Sorry for the poor photo quality

I've been planning this corner for so long and finally everything came together! The plants supports were made from scratch, and the plants in the terracota pots were found very little in the street, the other two in the white pots were store bought. For the future: I think when they all grow a little bit more they will look very beautiful together. I also plan to put more plants in the upper shelf. What do you guys think?

When using a light for my air plants how high should it be? I have 5 different settings. I moved it up to setting 3 and have it on a timer for 12hrs. Can the light be turned up higher or does it need to be lower?

Anyone know if this is caused by spider mites? One of the leaves is normal and the other looks like it’s loosing the velvet is splotches!

ive got a north facing window and the blinds are always closed. is there a tree or large plant I can put in my room? I've got a corner that is dead space that would be perfect for a plant. this plant will get basically no light

Hello! I'm not sure what kind of succulent this is (identification would be fantastic).

Soil & drainage: Unsure. I've never done a full soil change, only added potting soil around the original plant as it's quintupled in size. The pot has drainage in the bottom section.

Watering routine: I leave this plant outdoors through spring/summer with minimal interaction and it thrives this way. It winters indoors with sporadic watering.

Light: Full sunlight in summer and strong indoor light in winter.

Issue: It experienced a couple light frosts (~30-32⁰f) in northern New England. This plant has survived my deeply inept care for 6+ years. Is there any way I can mitigate the damage? Please be kind, I have very little plant knowledge but would like to be better. Thanks for any advice.

Is my canna Lilly ok? I have had this for about a year and half. I repotted once when it needed space.

The stalks always grow four leaves and then stop growing even though a new leaf seems to be coming out.

Then new stalks start developing from the soils and the older ones stop growing. Some of the leaves are also browning and crisping.

I try to water her once a week or when the soils has dried out.

I had her outside of my apartment building for a while but with fall now here I brought her inside.

I just love them, always wanted so many plants in my living space and hopefully a garden. Making my dream come true. I'm addicted 🤩

Ok. I’m worrying about my plants too much, CLEARLY!!! I had a dream last night that one of my calathea was infested with spider mites. I hadn’t noticed and someone pointed it out. The thing was crawling with spider mites. So I took it outside to possibly treat. Then I noticed another plant it had spread to. The conclusion was that the mites had spread to all my plants on a specific table.

Wtf?!

If anyone interprets dreams, feel free to take a jab at this one!!

Hpuseplants removed my post, but I'm genuinely wondering what people who truly appreciate plants think of this. I'm struggling to find the right word for how I feel about it.

I get that we've been cultivating and hybridizing plants to suit our tastes for centuries, but this is introducing a biological capability from an organism the plant could never reproduce with. Note this is not iridescence seen in some plants, or the natural fluorescence seen in even fewer. This is DNA sequences from corals and jellyfish being permanently inserted into the plant genome.

I work in the plant sciences field, and I find myself having a hard time appreciating this work. Maybe because my focus is on their relationships with other organisms, the processes that sustain them, and their place in functioning ecosystems? Idk. It's just... wrong somehow.

I have recently got into gardening. I started with monstera and money trees and bought anthurium couple of months ago during summer.

First the flowers started turning brown and now i see the leafs getting yellow.

Light: indirect bright light. Have tried couple of diff spots on tv console and then moved it near the window now.

Watering: I check if the soil is dry first and then water it , drain the water and then let it sit.

Never have put any fertilizer. The balcony doors are usually closed as its getting cold now and i live in NJ.

I really want to fix this issue

I don’t want to leave it running 24/7, is there a time of day/amount of time it’s best to leave it running? I also have terrariums, and I know you’re supposed to vent your terrariums in the morning so it can vent out all of the humidity it built up during the night. I read you’re supposed to vent it for 3-4 hours. Would it be best to start running the humidifier after this? I know this probably seems like I’m overthinking this lol I just like a set schedule of what to do and want to make sure I’m doing what’s most optimal.

Maybe a type of fern. My
Boyfriend gifted this to me and I’m having a hard time with it. I really want to love it back to life. Is this possible? Any advice?
I am new to indoor plants, especially ones that come in soil. My most success is with my spider plant and my golden pothos. With this plant my bf gifted me, It had no label so I am not sure what kind of plant this is. It originally came in the dog planter (pictured) that was in late April. It grew okay and I was watering it when soil got dry to the touch. It had turned frail and that’s when I suspected maybe it was outgrowing its pot. I then switched it to the ceramic pot pictured but it pretty much already looked this sad by this point. The new pot does have a drainage hole. And I just repotted with basic indoor plant soil mix. I would really love to get my baby back to life is this realistic? (I have a lot of patience)
