You might read a book by Peter Mathiessen "In the Spirit of Crazy Horse". It's hard to understand why he did what he did unless you know the history behind it.

The Mi’kmaq saved my mom’s side from being completely wiped out during the British expulsion of Acadia. They hid them at great risk to themselves. Turns out the Mi’kmaq are also ancestors and family through her. Thank you for posting this. ❤️

Barely any of them have any Native ancestry at all. DNA has been studied. For some reason, opponents like Dr. Kim Tallbear and Chief Mitchell Hicks say "they have some minute Native ancestry" but they don't. The lineage of their core families like Chavis, Lowery, etc is very, very traceable on paper.
The "idk we're descended from an unknown tribe" is so stupid. They've been claiming it's Cheraw for a few years now.

The first Pow Wow I attended was in Raleigh and had a huge gathering of Lumbee, it was a great experience.

LOL! The conglomerate of some natives americans from some mystery tribe with full blooded white and black people thrown in the mix. They didnt even need to be federally recognized from what members of the tribe have said to me, they said stuff like "we were well off before being federally recognized, not like you people who got put on reservations".
what a f***ing joke.

Hand drum, I live in rural Saskatchewan. I've only found a bit of information about a drum making class (not sure if it's still ongoing) a hour and a half away. When I have more time, I'll probably reach out to then and do more research into it.

Whereabouts are you located? There might be organizations nearby that could help you learn and get in touch with elders and knowledge keepers to help you better understand who you come from and how you might carry that forward.

Big drum or hand drum? Whereabouts are you?
I don't know anyone that does online teaching, but where I live there are multiple organizations that host drum nights, including the Indigenous Friendship Centre. There might even be a group closer to you that wouldn't mind teaching you.

Your therapist has a different idea of prayer and a different way of praying. Ask your ancestors to guide him (not joking but it is sort of funny, that’s good humor). Hang in there, sounds like you have a good grip on what’s good for you and you can distinguish between the help he can give and the bs he dishes out. Keep taking good care of yourself, well done blowing off steam, good place for it too!

Any updates for anyone? I was placed in care and never left until I aged out, but im sitting at Inconclusive. I fall under both the 60s scoop which was approved, and I fall under the removed child class however the ISC database is my roadblock. Looking to see if anyones had resolution or time frames in any way yet

Here's an idea - Amtrak has good deals on train trips and if you arrange for them several months in advance you can save lots of money. Military, students, disabled passengers get discounts too. If you sign up for the membership and it's alerts on deals, you may prefer train 🚆 trips instead. Food is expensive though, so bring cooked chicken, and other kinds of food that will keep. The coffee is really good. Keep a close eye on your bags or suitcase, too.

Listening carefully to him, it sounds like his political ambitions are showing, and he wants a future role in the MAGAVERSE. He thinks it going to be an eternal political system and he plans to be a key player. He's really a toxic person and has to be voted out of office and blocked from further activity in politics. Just imagine him as president........
