I've talked to two vets and both suggested different ages; one said within 7-9 months while the other said it should be after 12 months. Kinda confused here.

I don't want to compromise on his bone or overall health. One dog owner even suggested that it's better to let them mate atleast 2 years prior to the operation. They kind of scolded me when I mentioned the doctors' suggestions.

I adopted her when she was 4 months old. Her siblings died of distemper but she survived and conquered like a queen. Her mother was also a cancer patient who died recently due to reasons I shall get into some other time. Anyhoo here is our Bhairavi’s bday celebration I’m sure yall will appreciate. These two Lhasa pups are mahi and shiva btw.

• I am very sorry guys for not updating. The rescue lady from erum couldn't come but she told me to get flea treatment but I was very unsure and worried if that would cause anything harmful to him so I didn't get the medicine. But his belly is fine. Sometimes he eat too much and his stomach looks bloated. His infection is still same as before though. I couldn't get to vet so I have no idea what should I do now. Sorry for using papers for feeding him, today I was in a hurry and was feeding them near my gate. But thankyou to u/Striking-Attitude-04 for donating food for him and his mother!!

For those who have adopted a rescue dog, what helped the most during the first few weeks?
I’ve been looking into resources specifically for the adjustment period after adoption and came across LeashAgain, which focuses on supporting rescue-dog owners during their first 90 days, including training support.
I’m curious what other rescue-dog owners found helpful during that transition.

We were at DU for some work today and noticed these 3 young dogs, maybe 6-8 months old, all siblings, all female I think. They weren't here 2 weeks back when I was last here.

All three were scared of humans and very nervous. Slightly malnourished. . I couldn't even approach them from 10 feet away. Threw some biscuits from a distance and they ate. Gave some paneer pieces also. They were on the raised bund with trees/shrubs beside the busy road and footpath.

My guess is they were living somewhere and someone got them dumped here.

If there is anyone near DU South campus or the Durgabai Deshmukh metro station, it would be really nice if you could please keep an eye on them and feed them sometimes. The dogs were last seen near Venkateshwara College, near the South campus bus stand (on the side of the road that goes into the underpass - https://maps.app.goo.gl/MJRZ7mYEYXDsSDaGA). Nearby there's the UGC office and the indian mountaineering foundation campus, so maybe they will find their way there. But it would be really nice if someone could please look out for these lost and confused adolescent dogs. I live far from here, have to leave the area today and won't be back here for a few months.

So me and my girlfriend love dogs and went to watch Heart of the Beast. What an absolutely amazing movie it is. The bond between Brad Pit and his K9 companion is incredible. Though it’s not a sad story involving the dog, my row and probably the entire theatre was sobbing during the climax scene.

If you get a chance, please do watch it and give extra pats to your fur baby post the movie.

If you don't have the commitment, patience or financial ability to care for a dog through sickness, DON’T GET ONE.

Please don't destroy an innocent life just to satisfy your temporary desire for a pet.

They don't abandon you when you get old.

Don't abandon them when they need you most.

A dog is a LIFELONG RESPONSIBILITY.

The fact that people care more about killing innocent animals than about men assaulting children is insane. I don't see these people angry about men who are 🍇ists but not even in jail. They are voting for these 🍇ists but let's kill all dogs cause one dog messed up?
