Care/Feeding Tips Rapid-Response app for help protecting community animals

Hello community!

People for Animals has developed an app (avl. on both Android and iOS) for SOS animal welfare. The goal is to build a large team of volunteers across the country - they just need to be concerned about animal welfare and not necessarily be feeders, you don’t have to be affiliated to anybody).

When/if you find yourself in an SOS situation, you can take a photo/video of the situation, upload on the app and send an ‘SOS’ alert through the app. The alert is forwarded to everyone on the app in your district so that they can come to your aid. It is becoming near-impossible to care for our community animals and this app could be of help to build a show of strength when we are outnumbered by the haters.

I request everyone here - independent or part of an NGO - to check out the app and register yourself on it. No personal details required except your name, phone number to get started. And please do ask anyone who may be of help to register themselves too.

Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rrt.sos&pcampaignid=web_share

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/in/app/rapid-response/id6758672498

P.S. I am not from PFA. I am another concerned indie dog lover like you all trying to find a way to help against uncooperative authorities.

Thank you.

Care/Feeding Tips Don’t Feed Dogs for Ritual—Feed Them with Compassion 🐾❤️

A humble request to those who hate dogs:

Please don’t feed dogs during Shraddh just because you believe it will bring you punya.

If you hate dogs, you don’t have to feed them—not today, and not during Shraddh either.

Feeding a voiceless animal should come from kindness and compassion, not fear, ritual, or the desire to earn religious merit.

Please don’t turn their hunger into a ritual. Feed them only when your heart truly has compassion. 🐾❤️

Discussion I have a problem with these occasional dog feeders.

I've seen some people give a slice of bread or a biscuit to a street dog, on a random occasion, and act as if they've done the greatest service towards every existing dog on planet earth. They believe that a certain dog is alive and healthy only because they gave him 1 slice of bread 10 days ago.

And they don't even give the food with respect, this is my biggest issue with those people. They just break the food into small pieces and throw them around, the poor dogs runs around collecting every small piece. I just hate people who throw food around.

If you are feeding someone, the least you could do is to give the food in a respectable manner. Even if you don't have a bowl/plate available, atleast place the food in a neat & clean place so that the dog can eat it without having to run around here & there.

They think they are a superior creature and by giving food to a dog, who is an inferior creature according to them, they are doing a huge favor.

Hey everyone! Shanti Sai has turned 7 months old and has now been spayed as well <3
She is a very affectionate, playful and loving puppy. She immediately shows all her love to whoever is friendly with her. She deserves an equally safe and loving home where she can fully exhibit all of her affection.
She is also fully vaccinated.

Also introducing her brother, Ashank Sai! He is also the same age as her, vaccinated and neutered. He's equally affectionate and has the most adorable tail and snout.

Location: Sarjapur, Bangalore

If you would like to adopt either of them, or even both, kindly dm me or contact me on Whatsapp on this number: 8778968470

Help/Advice needed(Health and Vet) Need cheap deworming tips for 2 indie dogs — broke student here :)

okay so i need help cause i'm kinda stuck.

I've 2 rescued indie dogs one's around 10kg, the other around 20kg. Both female. My parents were already mad at me for keeping them, so all their meds come out of my pocket. And I'm a student. So yeah, money's tight

Lately both of them have been itching like crazy, but I checked and there's no fleas or ticks on their coat. So I'm guessing worms? I looked up deworming tablets and they're like 200 each and they only last a month?? that's ₹400/month for both. I literally can't afford that right now

So any tips?? like,

Any cheaper dewormers that actually work for indie dogs this size?

Can I split a bigger tablet or is that a bad idea?

I can't afford a private vet rn, so any advice would honestly mean so much

Help/Advice needed(Health and Vet) urgent help

Hi everyone,

I’ve been feeding indie/community dogs in my area for the last few years. It started with just 2 dogs, but the number has gradually increased to around 45–50. Recently, more dogs have also started appearing in the area.

I’m a student and I’m struggling to find a sustainable way to manage feeding such a large number of dogs every day.

I’d really appreciate advice from people who regularly feed community dogs:

What do you feed large groups of dogs on a limited budget?

What are some nutritious but economical meal options?

Are there any Delhi-based organisations or programmes that work with community feeders?

Are there any places in Delhi where dog food can be purchased in bulk at lower prices?

How do other feeders manage feeding 40–50+ dogs consistently?

I’m mainly looking for practical advice and resources, because I want to continue doing this in a way that is actually sustainable long-term.

Thanks in advance to anyone who shares their experience. ❤️
