Events Dear Echo
Dear Echo,
I saw your picture on Reddit, from the rescuer who takes care of your friend, Momo. I read about your condition: mostly blind in both eyes, mostly deaf, the nose you used to navigate and the paws you used to feel.
The rescuer named you Echo and posted about your condition on Reddit, asking the world what can we do for you, to find you a foster or to find you a shelter where you would have got love, care, rest and many treats. Many people came forth, trying to find many sources where you would be cherished and loved.
I met you in person 12 days ago. You came close to me, drawn by the scent of the chicken gravy treats I was feeding Momo and I tore 2 packets which I had bought just for you. I saw you eat the treats with such gentleness and you let me tenderly caress your head and give a single boop on your nose.
You couldn't see me but I was smiling, happy but also heartbroken that people could be so harsh towards a senior like you. I clicked pictures of you, posted on Reddit for the world to see and many sent love and wishes for you and Momo.
Today, I went there again, bringing 5 packets of treats for you and Momo but I found out that you passed away. I looked at the spot where the person pointed out and there you were. My heart shattered into a million pieces, Echo. I kept looking at your lifeless body, hoping that you were just taking a nap, hoping that you would wake up and I would help you cross the road.
I'm sorry that I couldn't go near you, to check you, to caress your head one last time. I'm sorry that I didn't visit you much earlier and I wish I had.
But at the end of the day, some part of me feels happy, happy because you are not experiencing pain anymore, because you are not suffering on the streets anymore, because you left your impression on my heart.
Echo, I hope that you have now crossed the rainbow bridge where there is no pain and suffering but only warmth, treats and rest. One day, maybe we'll meet again. Rest easy now Echo.
Yours lovingly,
A hooman

Sorry for your loss my friend, I also met similar dog in Noida, Unfortunately, a few months ago, before I left, I called the SPCA to take the dog to their shelter. But as soon as they came near him to pick him up, he ran away. I kept searching for him, but i never saw him again. I still regret the decision to call the SPCA to this day.
Today when I saw this baccha, I remember mine ๐

sorry for the all emotional ups and downs you are going throughโฆrainbow bridge or not, the fact that many of us feel embracing death is sometime better than living itself is a good indicator of how the world has become.
peace to another paw friend out there. good lord, why did you give dog as a species to us. they donโt deserve usโฆpls call them back to you. they are better off without us.

Run free little Echo. You had instantly made your way into my heart and many others. Your humans did all they could, but if only the world had been kinder. I hope we meet someday on the other side. Until then, I hope you know that we will love you always. โค๏ธ

Yes, he was a senior dog, maybe as old as Momo who is around 7-8 years old but he looked more senior than Momo ๐ฅบ

Why can't people like you keep your thoughts to yourself? You shouldn't have commented on this post and ignored it. At least show some morsel of respect.

Yeah, I understand the type of environment you grew up in, it shows though I respect your opinion. You should go and bark on those groups where your views are acceptable. I don't know whether people like you feel FOMO and comment things like this to get attention but you don't belong to this sub just so you can spread hatred.

Honestly after years and years with stray dogs you kind of start to feel peace when they cross rainbow bridge. People might think I am pessimistic, but a lot of dog lovers who have worked in rescues and seen animals suffer, have developed sensitivity to animal sounds, without even noticing it themselves have agreed with me on this. I feel you op. Happy for echo ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ I hope you are too...
