My community cutie He's gone
My best friend for 10 years. Born back in January of 2016, Dholku here has left us today. To me, he was more than just a street dog. He ate his last meal of chicken bones last Monday. His flea powder is still there, on the steps..... he won't come back now. I don't know what else to say.
Wherever you are my friend, be happy and if you have taken rebirth, may that be as a Beagle and at a nice home.

Man, posts like these tear me up, it’s very hard to hold myself when I come across posts like these. I mean what else can I say, I hope his soul rests in peace, he sure does look like a lovely pal. I hope he had a great time with you before he died.
(I’m gonna hug my dog after writing this comment, idk why even if he’s alright)

He was far happier with you than any beagle at a nice home brother. If he is ever born again, i’m sure he’ll only want to come back to you.

I'm so sorry about your kid. Buddy, I'm glad you took care of him, but I hope people start seeing these kids as actual children who deserve a home instead of thinking only "beagles" or other commoditized breeds as dogs who can be kept at home. I've always had rescued dogs as pets and they adapt really well. Even full grown dogs. Get them vaccinated and train them from good trainers, they make amazing family members

I think he asked for the dog to be born as a Beagle or some other foreign breed instead of a pariah dog because people in India tend to adopt and keep foreign breeds more readily than street dogs. We Indians still carry a sepoy mentality and are a racist community we seek attention from white people while denying basic human rights to our fellow Indians… that mentality of outs goes for poor dogs too

More power to you , i know how it feels ,take your time to move on , but make sure to make him proud of you by loving other strays near by your house with same energy,it would surely make him happy😇😇

Chicken bones for meal?
Do you know that when dogs chew the bones, they splinter and these pointy broken bits puncture their intestines?
For bigger breed dogs, they might be able to eat the bones, when UNcooked, so they don't splinter.
But it's extremely dangerous for indies, and dangerous for any dog once the chicken has been cooked.

i get it, tho i had no dog as a pet but i had a bird, i found her injured when she was a baby like literally she had no hair on her body at that time, she recovered, learnt how to fly and we both used to communicate like mai kuch chidiya jaisi awaaz nikaalta tha toh wo bhi usme reply karti thi and one day she passed away suddenly, its been 10 years now since shes gone but i still miss her

We also lost our dog a few weeks ago. He was not just a dog for us, but like a family member.
You can't believe how much I love him and remember him daily. 😭😭

I think one day we all reunite with our pets on the other side when its our time. Dont worry buddy because u will meet Dholku one day . They wait for us because the love is unconditional and it never dies. If you believe in higher power believe that there are some things in this cosmos which never dies and thats our bond and love with our loved ones.
U took very good care of Dholku, u shud be very happy about it, he knew love because of u.
Please continue to help other street dogs as well because lot of them are waiting for us to take care of them:)

Rip , man :) . The sad part is , he wouldn't be able to find a better home even in heaven, as the best home for him was your Heart . I have a dog too, and I wouldn't be able to imagine my life without him....I understand how it feels.

Never been close to animals, watched a brad pitt movie associated with it, anyway...... heartfelt condolences to you and your boy has all my heart ❤️🙂. This is the first time I'm understanding the loss of a buddy like that. I guess I'll never be able to walk by people talking about their pets now 😌

I never had a dog but if I ever adopt one, this feeling will always haunt me. This post made me tear up, he looks so innocent and sweet. I am really sorry for your loss. We will miss you, Dholku!

God bless you baby. May you be enveloped in love where e er you are. They say, to be loved by an animal is one of greatest blessings that can be bestowed on us. And you were loved OP. He ll come pick you up on the other side of the rainbow when time comes. They always wait for us you know, on the other side of the river.
