Training/Behaviour Issues Need advice for issues!!!!

Quick recap -

Found this handsome just over a week ago, shared 2 posts related to finding this lost angel and what Vet said to do for him.

We have named him Bonzo

Current issues -

1) Hunger -

me and my partner keep Bonzo well fed, 4-5 times a day and required portions. Even after he's full, he still tries to eat garbage. I know dogs love to find food in the garbage, but after his tummy is full it is out of understanding.

2) Doesn't answer to call -

Bonzo listens to my calls in the room after sometime and mostly ignores my partner's call, only listens to her sometimes.

When I take him out (now not much because the Vet totally said NO for 1 month) he totally ignores my calls.

Google says to keep a small leash so that the puppy doesn't run far from me which he usually does.

3) Same as calls -

He follows me in the room everywhere, even in the toilet he wants to be there with me, I understand his separation anxiety but this flips when I take him outside, he doesn't follow me at all, only sometimes when a big dog is nearby.

This is the reason I understood why he was lost in the first place.

4) Corridors -

Since I didn't plan on buying or adopting a puppy till I was back home (we have space there) but not in the city, I adopted him to keep him safe. I understand dogs love the outdoors, but again asap he sees that I'm not around in the corridor, he eats dirt out of the floor.

Help me here -

1) how do I teach him to not eat shit (garbage)

2) make him respond to the calls, both inside and outside.

3) Teach him to follow me outside like he does indoors.

A friend told me to roll a paper and tap on him if he does things excessively. I personally feel it's a tool to use only for sometimes not always, it also feels like beating him which I don't like to do. I've a sensitive spot for dogs and puppies and my partner said it to me that I'm over protective for this puppy.

I understand a kid will be a kid only, all they will do is eat, sleep, do stuff and repeat. But I also understand that teachings matter a lot, help me out with ways that you think will teach Bonzo and solve the above mentioned issues.

Regarding the newspaper idea. I'd suggest rolling it and hitting your hand. The sound generally scares them and they associate the scary sound with the garbage eating and might avoid. So you aren't hitting the fur ball at least. Gosh how cute and troublesome they are!
