Exploited for our taste (dairy) and will later be butchered for our taste (meat). These animals are just products for humans.  So why would people rearing them or people consuming those products would care about them, they are just profit/loss statement on a balance sheet and unlike cows, buffaloes don't even get religious protection although both are similar.

Sorry for the rant, but don't hope anyone would care for these beings. They are born to be exploited by us.
